Hotel Big Bang was a very convenient and comfortable stay. The location is excellent. Roma Termini is only about a 5-minute walk, and there is a huge selection of restaurants and takeaway food immediately around the hotel, including plenty of halal options. One thing to know before arriving is that there is no prominent hotel sign at the main entrance. The entrance appears to be a shared building containing several accommodations, with a small keypad/intercom beside the large main door. This can make the hotel slightly confusing to find for the first time. The hotel is accessed by a very small, old-style lift. It may look dated, but it worked perfectly. The gentleman at reception was very kind, welcoming and cooperative. The room was a reasonable size—not huge, but certainly adequate—with a comfortable bed and properly working AC, which was particularly appreciated during the summer in Rome. The bathroom was clean and had all the necessary facilities, including both a toilet and bidet. Free coffee was available, while water and other drinks were reasonably priced. I particularly appreciated that the prices were closer to what you might pay at a supermarket rather than the heavily inflated minibar prices often found in hotels. Another big positive came on my departure day. My train was later in the day, and the hotel allowed me to leave my luggage after checkout. They also kindly allowed me to remain in their café/sitting area for around two hours, where I could use the Wi-Fi and relax with a cold drink instead of carrying my luggage around Rome. Overall, this was a good, practical and very convenient stay with genuinely helpful staff. It may not be a luxury hotel with huge rooms and modern elevators, but it provides the things that actually matter to a traveller: a comfortable bed, working AC, good facilities, excellent location and welcoming service. The hotel can be a little difficult to identify on first arrival because there is no prominent sign at the building entrance, and the lift is extremely small and old-fashioned. Neither was a significant problem once i knew where the hotel was.

Checking in was fine, the host provides a selection of foods for breakfast with no additional charge - which is a nice touch; shame we didn't get to use it. We had originally booked to stay 3 nights, upon checking in we went out for the day; we returned later that evening to use the shower and found mould and dirt in the shower, shower head, tiles and sink. We spoke to Frederico to change rooms however the place was fully booked. He then said that he would get the cleaners back in to properly clean. I explained that the mould present does not appear overnight and would take weeks/months. He then said he had an 8.2 rating and has never had any negative responses to such a thing. I then advised him of over 10 negative cleanliness reviews in various rooms - specially about the mould and dirt problems in the bathroom. Quite clearly an issue they were aware of and had not addressed properly. Of note the room we stayed in had a review in mid-July complaining of the mould in the shower, so he either didn't see the review or chose to ignore it - I will let you decide on this. When asked to cancel the room and refund he refused, stating that he needed to be given the chance to clean it - this I said wasn't acceptable as the bathroom should not have been left for such a long time to get in such a condition. Eventually I had to compromise in forfeiting the first nights fee to obtain a refund for the other two nights (despite not staying there at all). Alternate accommodation was sourced elsewhere. +there were also marks and dust/dirt in the main room, old stains on the sheets. **you are paying a premium for a basic hostel type room with deficient and dirty facilities - avoid unless you aren't phased by a lack of cleanliness**

The staff was very friendly and helpful and they did have snacks and coffee in the breakfast room. Really good AC units. I didn't like the room much. it was just an open space with 3 beds and bathroom in the middle. It kind of killed the vibe.

Location was good, kind to watch our luggage, friendly staff, loved the "three snacks" to have for breakfast! Loved the AC! My bed was really soft ..... felt sunken! Shower was different ... no door so water can spread big time!

Had a nice night stay here. Lovely and clean, staff friendly, aircon worked very well. Great location for Termini Station and walking into the center. Only note is that the building seems to be under construction partially- the lift that you have to use after 8pm is so rickety it didnt feel very safe and some of the stairs looked like they were cracking down to the support beams within them.

Location was great near train station and metro. Friendly staff with cheap drinks available onsite. We loved our air conditioning after being out in the heat. We were also offered luggage storage on our final day. There was a lift available to our apartment It is simple, but suited us!

It was a convenient location. Close to the train station and a few attractions. Great testable by as well. The room looked more like a hostel, than hotel. Bare walls, and the shower was very small.

I love the location. Cleanliness and smell of the mold in the shower.

It was very quaint. The staff was nice and I liked the lounging area and the availability of coffee and snack snacks It was a little difficult to find the first time. It is very small and cramped, but I suppose that’s old European style. It could use some updating on the inside, but if you’re looking for a nice place to sleep that is clean and comfortable you are the perfect choice for a couple of days
