Microtel Placentinos

We loved our stay at the Placentinos. The location is wonderful--close to the main attractions and restaurants. The room was comfortable, with lots of light. The staff was absolutely wonderful, giving us recommendations and very attentive to our needs. Just be aware that if you drive it is next to impossible to find parking close to the hotel, though there are paid lots nearby.

The hotel is clean, quiet and comfortable, and has great character - the feel of the older building, yet with modern and comfortable facilities - it has the best of both. The location really can't be beat as it's within walking distance of everything in the old town yet just far enough away to avoid much of the noise. Rooms are quite small (we booked one of the larger twin rooms and even that was a bit tight for two people), and there really aren't any shared or public spaces available to use in the hotel. For this reason, we found it a little overpriced for what you get as there isn't much space to do much other than sleep there. The rooms are well sound proofed from noise outside, but we could hear noise from within the building, which was fortunately not too bad during our stay. Overall though, a nice and comfortable choice for our stay, and we were pleased with it.

Great location in beautiful Salamanca Room really small

Very nice, small room (for one) in a wonderful old building in the historic University of Salamanca grounds. Right on the edge of the main pedestrian area in the historic center. Easy access to Plaza Mayor, great restaurants and sights, and the river. Very quite because not on the street. No parking, and no vehicle access to the door of the hotel. Parking was in an underground public lot, for 17 Euros overnight. Quite hard to find initially, because it is not on a real street. And all the wonderful old buildings look quite similear

Awesome location! Would be even better if breakfast was a bit more comprehensive and a coffee pot or nespresso in room.

The staffs are very nice and friendly. They helped me call the taxi to get to the bus station. Also, a bonus point for traveling in Europe during summer: this hotel has AC and you can adjust the room temperature according to your need. I wish there’s a hair dyer in the room to use.

Beautiful place! I liked the design and all the wood and stone. Very kind staff, decent breakfast with good coffee and fresh orange juice. There’s a great restaurant across the street, Salam. The toilet was very close to the shower - difficult to use if you are a tall person. The towels were a bit thin and not great quality.

Beautiful 16th century mansion converted into a small hotel. Lovely room, great bathroom. Very helpful staff, great location. Quiet street, several cafés and bars very close.
