Parking difficult I used the hospital underground carpark 17. 50 euros a day.

This place is right up at the budget end of the market and I wouldn't recommend you booking it unless it's a steal of a deal AND price is your No1 factor. It is, however, a short enough walk to the places you'll want to go and there are several decent supermarkets, cafes and restaurants nearby. So I am travelling by motorcycle and one of my main factors when choosing somewhere to stay is always whether there's somewhere safe and practical to park my motorcycle. This place advertises "parking" so I booked it on my mobile device (as booking.com encourages you to do in order to get maximum discount) assuming this means that it has it's own. Well I was wrong. What "parking" actually means is that there is, somewhere in the locality, a parking garage that the proprietor can point you to. In this case, a commercial car park at EUR14 per day. This was basically going to increase the cost of my stay by 50% and in any event, you should never need to pay to park a motorcycle - most places will let you park for free. When I questioned this, I was basically told that I should have read the small print and all the reviews. I ended up parking my bike on the pavement outside on the basis that I had it locked up reasonably well and it was a quiet enough area that I thought it would be okay. It transpires that this is illegal but I never got a ticket. Other than that, I found the Hostal Goya Suites to be a pretty dismal experience. Tired decor, threadbare carpets, a pervasive smell of refuse and basically being bodged with minimal maintenance as a money spinner. It's another one of these human-free check in experiences that require you to use a web form to scan your passport and if you can't get that to work then you're not getting into the property. During my time there, I never once saw another human being - not another guest and certainly not a member of staff. Nobody answered my calls or messages when I was trying to get into my room and needed some help.

Amazing location and price. Facilities are classic but charming, great shower. Clean. Nice that there was a kettle in the room too. No kitchen facilities in the room or hostal but that’s minor compared to the upsides.

Clean, comfortable, affordable prices, very well located

Very clean, close to a lot of places and cafes very good nearby. Super cozy and easy to navigate. Everything was fabulous, just a tad bit small, but it was super comfortable!

Great location, easy walking distance to center of Salamanca. Also lovely small plaza with local cafes next to the building. Well appointed room with spacious bathroom. Very clean.

Centrally located. Nice staff. Even though it was supposed to be a “smoke-free” room, the bathroom reeked of cigarette smoke, as if people had been smoking there constantly. The smell was unbearable, I am very sensitive to odors and could barely stand to be in there. After spending the night, I just wanted to get out, and the odor seemed to cling to me even afterward, terrible headache all day. I reported the cigarette smell to the front desk upon checkout. Noise from other guests traveled easily through the walls. There seemed to be a large family occupying several rooms, and they behaved as if the entire place were theirs, the hallway was loud and busy very early in the morning. You can also hear people coming and going in the middle of the night, so it’s not a quiet place to rest. Would not recommend it for more than one night.

Cute place with easy access. The room was well laid out. The bed was comfortable and the a/c was great. Al the receptionist was friendly and helpful. The balcony views were nice. The bathroom was a tad tiny, but quite functional other than a slight lack of shelf/counter space around the sink and mirror (which really wasn’t that big a deal). Plus, Hostal Goya is named after my favorite Spanish painter. ? See bathroom comments above.

I booked the hotel late and was to arrive in the night. They arranged everything and it was so easy to check in. The next day even helped me to get a taxi

Near the center and close restaurants and bars for breakfast and lunch/dinner. This place has not parking even though it was said it has. Options are private parking or find free public parking 10min away. Walls are very thing. I could hear everything from the next room, even if they talk in normal volume. Remember to lock the door from inside. Doors are house room-doors, it can be open from outside if not locked, they are thing and provides little safety if someone tries to force inside while you are away.

This is a very cute place to stay. Like staying in your grandma's house with old but comfortable furnishings. HUGE bathroom, comfy beds and a great location!!

    Very good

There was excellent communication with our host, who was proactive about our need to enter during the afternoon when the office wasn't open, and we introduced ourselves the day after we let ourselves in during off hours. There was enough space in the room, a nice closet, a couple of comfortable chairs, and a table against the wall--we had enough space. Our room faced the street with a balcony onto which a door and window opened. We liked having that view, and the weather was just the right temperature to open the door and window rather than having to use the air conditioner, but that did make it a bit noisy..but worth it for the breeze. There was a pot to heat hot water, but no coffee, only a couple of tea bags, and no mugs that could be used for hot drinks, only some individually wrapped thin plastic cups. It was nice having a sheet and a two lighter duvet/spreads--I find when there's only one heavier duvet, I'm on-off with it all night. Salamanca was one of our favorite places in Spain, and this was right on the edge of the Centro, so we never used any public transportation in the city (we even walked from the train station), but a city bus comes right by this street. Would like to have had an actual glass and mug... Also, and this is probably too much information, I cut my toenails, and when I cleaned them off the floor, I found some hair that wasn't mine. But I hadn't seen any actual dirt. The walls are thin and we could hear other people. The mattress seemed to be in two layers, and the top one kept sliding toward my side of the bed.
