The Scherer is a traditional, family-run 4-star hotel in a quiet residential area, only a 15-minute walk along the Salzach River from Salzburg’s Old Town. Location was close to train station and bus stops. Difficult climbing in and out of the bath tub to take a shower. We asked for two more packets of instant coffee for our coffee maker in the room and were denied.

The staff was very friendly and held our luggage for us. We really enjoyed the fee bus pass that they provided to us. That was very unexpected. Loved that they provided a map of the city as well. There was some writing left in the room from a former guest on the furniture.

The staff was so friendly and helpful! The place was nicely decorated and very clean. The breakfast was fantastic We honestly didn’t have any issues with the property, everything was great for our stay

The room was extremely small with a shower over the bath which is an issue in a small space. No other issues - very close to all major attractions- i walked everywhere so public transport wasn't used-.

Was vibrant, beautiful, classically decorated. Our room was clean and stocked to the brim with every little detail. Great location. Staff was super helpful, thorough, and kind. Extra shoutout to Helene for being super sweet! Nothing.

The staff was incredibly friendly and kind. We received unlimited bus passes for the city of Salzburg which we didn't expect. The room was comfortable. We arrived very early and were able to store our luggage until check in. Channel 100 on the TV had the Sound of Music playing on repeat 24/7 (incredible). Overall this was a very comfortable and pleasant stay. The location was very convenient from the train station (6 min walk) and easy to get into the old part of the city (20 min walk). I also love that this hotel is family run and has a long history. The hotel did feel slightly older and maybe a little run down.
