Our stay at the Hotel Via Roma was absolutely wonderful. This exceptional experience began at check in. Elli was perfectly friendly and helpful. She provided free bus passes that we used extensively during our stay and shared very useful information about Salzburg. The bus stop was steps from the hotel door. Our room was large, clean and very quiet. The air conditioner was most appreciated on warm days. Free parking at the hotel was a huge benefit. Breakfast was exceptional. Thank you Elli and Via Roma for making our Salzburg stay wonderful!

Lovely ambience inside and in the grounds. Every morning we were greeted with a warm, interested receptionist Elli who would resolve any problems, which were minimal. The staff overall were approachable and reactive to our enquiries. The breakfast was delightful and the dining room waitress was very helpful and professionally friendly (apologies for forgetting your name). It was a leisurely stroll from the old town and we did a mix of walking and using public transportation which was accessible from right outside the hotel. For me the mattress was a bit firm, but my 4 friends felt they were very comfortable.

The location, near the Salzburg Altstadt, was ideal for me. It was right on bus routes and near an ATM and grocery store. The staff, including Eli, was great, so helpful and friendly. I had pizza one night in Da Giacomo, the restaurant, and breakfast one morning. I was upgraded to a room with a kitchen, which was wonderful to have. The room was also very quiet. I was extremely careful on the steps down to the entrance and into the hotel. There's a path that looks like it could avoid the steps but it's blocked by planters.

Comfortable, clean and close to where I needed to be, also having aircon was great

One of the best parts of the hotel is the location! Quite neighborhood, right next to bus 5 stop, and the Italian restaurant next door. Plus, it is just a few stops from all the attractions in Altstadt. Room was very clean and large, especially for just one person. View from windows was of the peaceful mountains. Outside seating in the back was private and beautiful. Staff was super friendly—shout out to Gerard and Eli! Breakfast had buffet-style with cook to order eggs—shout out to Harjinder! I would definitely stay here again! (Plus, there was an air-conditioner for the days that were hot). Can’t think of anything.

Even though we booked standard double room we got upgraded to apartment which was amazing. It was very spacious, clean, comfortable bed, AC in bedroom as well as living room and huge shower. There is a free parking and even though it’s small we’ve got lucky and got one last spot. The guy on the reception allowed us to keep our car parked then even after check out which was very convenient. Also, he gave us free city bus tickets for the day of arrival and day after that which was great. The only thing we didn’t like is that we booked it for just 1 night. Should we be again in the area, we’d definitely book this hotel again.

The staff was very helpful and having buses for the stay was great. The room had an amazing view! The door of the bathroom was violently loud.

It was very convenient for walking to the Old Town and very well appointed. We were given free bus passes which we used to get into the city on our second day. The staff allowed us to park our car in the car park throughout, and a bit beyond, our stay. The reception staff (particularly a gentleman with excellent English) were very welcoming and helpful. He came up immediately to our room to sort out an Aircon problem (which was my fault!). Our stay in Salzburg was greatly enhanced by our stay at Via Roma. Nothing at all. A great place to stay in all respects.

Short walk to the city centre and some close fantastic cafe's towards the city. Big rooms and ours had a view of the castle.
