The spot was perfect, around everything we needed! The room was pretty small!

Had a problem initially but it was addressed immediately. Parking is expensive everywhere so plan on walking or renting scooters. Make sure to thank & tip Vanessa for getting a hot free breakfast ready every morning.

From the start, the parking situation was highly frustrating. There was no standard parking available, and we were left with the choice of paying $50 for valet or $122 for nearby daily self-parking. Furthermore, upon arrival, I had to wait 10 minutes for my room to become available. The issues continued inside the room. The television did not work, and when I tried to call the operator for assistance, no one answered. I had to go down to the lobby myself to get help. Eventually, a housekeeper came to the room and had to climb on top of the furniture just to plug the television cord in. Shortly after, I discovered that the room's remote control was also broken. Once again, I called the operator twice without success, forcing me to return to the lobby and wait for someone to assist me at the front desk. When I explained my frustration to the staff member on duty, she was polite but informed me that the maintenance team had left the property at 4:00 PM and that she could not be of much help, other than sending another remote control with a housekeeper. This has been the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. Given the lack of basic amenities, the broken equipment, and the unresponsive guest services, I request that management review this matter. Sincerely, Maria Gil

What I liked the most was the old hotel look and the location. Being surrounded by old buildings and history was really cool and being near the Alamo was cool too. Staff was nice and accommodating. It's close to everything. Anywhere you want to go it's a short distance. Some places are walking distance. If you haven't ever stayed at a old old hotel, first thing you have to know is old buildings= single pane windows. Which means you hear everything outside. Granted it was on a weekend but you hear cars, trucks, motorcycles reving their engines. Drunk people yelling, sirens going off, it was constant all night. I recommend a noise canceling headset if anything. We Barely slept. Another one which wasn't a big deal for us is the rooms are very small. Not a lot of walking room. It was just me and my husband and it didn't bother us. We thought it was cute but some people don't like that. The water pressure in the shower was so so. We had to change rooms because we thought we smelled weed in the bathroom, possibly from a neighbor next door. Talk to the front desk just to let her know we think someone is smoking.. we come back from the concert and next thing we know we walk into the room and it smells like they sprayed heavy cologne. It was so bad it was giving us a headache and asked to change rooms. Unfortunately it went from a king bed to a queen but it was just as comfortable. The shower head in the first had good pressure but not hot, second room had little pressure and more heat. You get inconsistency when it comes to old hotels unfortunately.

The room was clean and the staff were friendly. It's very close to the Riverwalk and you are right down town. The only draw back was parking. They only offer valet and it's $45 a night. I do wish they had other parking options but but I definitely enjoyed my stay and will stay here again.

So the pictures of the hotel look amazing on the website but its a whole different story in reality. The hotel looks run down and dirty. There were 2 people there part of the staff that were very nice. There was one in the night shift who was an A**. He would not help at all. Our room was so hot , he would not give us a fan , when the guy before him had told us that he would leave one there for us. I was not impressed. Their breakfast was good. The room they put us in was so small and on the website it looked big. Dont be fooled by the pics. Also just be prepared to pay 60.00 a day for parking. Although I was able to speak to a guy there and he gave me a small discount after he saw how upset and dusgusted I was with the false advertisement. The only advantage there was how close everything was to the hotel.
