Kimpton Alton Fisherman's Wharf by IHG

The location was great, walking distance from pier 39 and other great locations. Only problem was the sheets were either stained or not cleaned properly. Definitely will be asking for fresh sheets if I stay there again. Also the person who checked us in was very sarcastic and kept telling me to look at the paper provided instead of answering my questions directly. Not very friendly.

No great amenities, staff was ok, pictures are much nicer than the actual hotel. Hotel is small and dated.

The Alton is a very nice hotel and well located. A short walk to Fisherman's Wharf and Ghirardelli Square. Room was clean, bed was very comfortable, and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. The afternoon happy hour was a pleasant surprise and the morning coffee was very appreciated. Highly recommend the hotel

The location was excellent. Perfect for the places we had planned to visit on our trip. The Valet was difficult to get a spot and there was no help or offer with our bags or anything else. Only the question that we would be using the overnight valet and then a dismissal. It was frustration but not the end of the world.

Amazing location and the absolute friendliest staff. Travelled with my family (3 kids under 12) and husband and mother, and this hotel was ideal. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. Everything we needed was walking distance. I would highly recommend this hotel. Best hotel experience we’ve had in ages.

The front desk staff has been kind and attentive but unfortunately but did not have the ability to resolve any issues. I booked through a 3rd party and had issues with the reservation. Requested a conversation with hotel management and they did not call or email me back after 3 requests. Booking.com also called and emailed and they did not respond. I had to initiate another request a few days later and be the intermediary between booking.com and the hotel. Requested a full refund and they would not honor. I am still in the process of finding a resolution over a week later. I would not recommend staying here.

Very good

Quiet rooms, great room layout, best coffee in the lobby. Loved the eclectic options such as bringing a plant to your room and the record player. Happy hour beverage hit the spot after a day of travel. The guy who got my suitcase out of luggage storage was lurking for a tip. Dude, you rolled my suitcases 3 feet.

Ideal location. Lovely environment. The rooms were so quiet and comfortable. I appreciated the ambiance lighting options and the records and record player were a fun touch. Would definitely stay here again. The only damper on our experience was the bell hop gentleman during check in. I asked if he would take a luggage cart to my husband so he could unload the car while I checked in and he refused. He sat at his booth and watched me wheel it to the car. Then after we had freshened up and were heading to dinner he complained to us that we hadn’t brought the cart back to him. It really made us feel unwelcome. If we removed this person from our experience the stay and staff were ideal.

Great location for main attractions and the staff was very nice. They also handed out unlimited bottle water.
