Close to everything and the staff was amazing!

The location. I’ve been staying here for over 30 years. Aldo the top notch valet, Miquel, welcomed me as though we are old friends. It is wonderful. He was very helpful and kind and very professional. Julian, the front desk manager, was very helpful and sorted out my problem with getting into my room in a timely manner. He was amazing and saved the day. The front desk woman was incredibly rude & unhelpful. Her attitude was NOT of the Ritz Carlton level. My room was on a main street and very loud. I had a very hard time getting to sleep. The coffee in the room was terrible and the Diptique body lotion in my bathroom was old and unusable. The mattress in my room was also old and very uncomfortable. The main lobby restaurant was under construction which was disappointing. I was looking forward to the most delicious hamburger in San Francisco. It was SO opposite of every stay I’ve had in the last 3 decades. So very disappointing to not have the Ritz Carlton experience I was expecting.

My daughter had a birthday cake delivered to the hotel and the staff wheeled in a mini fridge in our room with the cake inside while we were out.

Me and my kids loved our trip to San Francisco because of staying here they have extremely helpful understanding staff, easy check in, kid friendly, large spacious rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, easy Netflix login, nice quite area, housekeeping respects privacy. Nice valet area easy to go in and out. We had an amazing time. I would say the only thing to keep in mind is the area where they keep the water, wine, and alcohol is weight triggered so if you move them because of small children you will be charged if you don’t let staff know at check out. But staff is extremely nice and fixed the issue right away. Beautiful lovely hotel.

As always, service was exceptional. Our room was clean with amazing views. The restaurant and were good and we enjoyed the pop up pizzas in the courtyard.

Amazing staff, ambiance, and large rooms with views. We loved the amenities, room service, robes, etc. Every single person we interacted with went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. The property is very old so this not their fault! But the drains were slow in the shower so water does pool up a little. There was a towel in our room that didn’t look very clean when we arrived. But otherwise, it was exceptional.

Nothing They charged me payment twice. I paid to booking.com and they forced me to pay again. Ridiculous. It has been 3 days passed and they did not refunded and they did not give any information

The staff was VERY accommodating!!!!

An absolute joy to experience the beautiful atmosphere. Our first choice in SF will always be the Ritz.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. Beds were comfy. Mostly quiet Despite checking in 1 hour after we could, we walked into the room whilst it was still being serviced. As a result the cleaner immediately left - we later found out that meant the room wasn’t properly clean - There was what looked like blood spatter on the wall of the shower. Really gross. Bathroom handle was broken on the inside which meant you kept getting locked in, as it could only be opened from outside. Ordered room service - they forgot the apple juice but still charged us. Not the luxurious experience we expected.

I only liked the location, it is very close to the Union Sq. and coffee machine in the room. This hotel feels outdated and in need of renovation. The entrance is small and poorly lit, and the staff come across as impersonal — I never felt welcomed during my stay. The photos shown for the Deluxe King room on Booking.com do not match reality. I was given a much smaller room with a tiny window facing the back of the hotel. When I politely asked to be moved to a room matching what I had booked, the receptionist only tried to sell me a paid upgrade instead of resolving the issue. She claimed they didn't know who had uploaded the photos on Booking.com, but confirmed it wasn't the room type I actually received and that I'd have to pay extra to get what I originally booked. If you're expecting anything close to a real 5-star, Ritz-Carlton-level experience, look elsewhere. This hotel is, at best, a 3-star property.
