Warwick San Francisco
About Warwick San Francisco
Just 5 minutes’ walk to Union Square Park, this luxurious boutique hotel blends San Francisco Victorian décor with modern amenities like free WiFi in all rooms. A European bar, lounge and restaurant are onsite. Warwick San Francisco hotel is a captivating reflection of the city in which it resides, striking a perfect balance between authentic history and modern hospitality. Ideally located on Geary Street, just steps from bustling Union Square, the Theater District, and its world-class shopping and landmark attractions, this luxury boutique hotel is a residential-style hideaway in downtown San Francisco. Notably, the Warwick shares the same architect as San Francisco’s Coit Tower and City Hall, Arthur Brown Jr. Affectionately called the “The House of Sunshine”, this Beaux-Arts style hotel was established in 1913. Guests need to venture no further than the lobby for a taste of San Francisco. Indulge innovative Spanish tapas at the BOTA, or sample one of our curated cocktails at our bar, The European. In its simplicity and grace, Warwick San Francisco does not dictate the experience of its guests; rather it serves as an elegant backdrop for their own distinct story to unfold. Classic Victorian blue and white décor, blended with modern design elements such as, built-in USB ports, a flat-screen TV and a docking station are featured at Warwick San Francisco. A stylish gray sofa bed is featured in the spacious living room of select suites. Concierge services are available to help guests reserve priority seating at Aveline and other nearby attractions. San Francisco International Airport is 20 minutes’ drive away. Moscone Center and the Yerba Buena Gardens are within 6 minutes’ walk of the Warwick San Francisco.

Great staff, incredibly helpful, very kind. Good sized rooms, smaller bathrooms. Walking distance to many great places around the city whether that'd be food/drink or clothing/accessories. Overall great stay and would come back again!

The v fireplace wasn’t working and the situation was remedy before we returned in a few hours. Every evening greeted by our names. They also presented us with a dessert for our 40th anniversary. The best hotel with staff we’ve stayed at in many years. This was a return stay and we will definitely be returning

This is a lovely hotel, nice antique style decor but not outdated at all. It’s been designed this way. The room was super cosy and clean, although note the sink was in the bedroom separate to the bathroom. This didn’t bother us. They did a nice thing by offering a free glass of wine in the bar on the night of our arrival and 10% off in the restaurant next door, which looked lovely. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby as well the town square including Macy’s and Cheese and factory. A half hour walk to the wharf and also near to the famous trams. The location is great for walking anywhere you want to! We are big walkers and walked to the Golden Gate Bridge, fisherman’s wharf, painted ladies and all across the city. Having said that, there is a real issue with homeless and drug users in this area. This is not the hotel’s fault but it’s a consideration about the area if you’re staying with children/ families. We heard and saw aggressive shouting outside every night, and, when going out in the early morning, it was a really upsetting environment to be in and didn’t feel entirely safe. People lying on the floor comatose and drug deals happening on the corner. I also didn’t appreciate the ‘early departure fee’ waiver you have to sign when you check in. FYI to be aware of the T and Cs when you sign it. They had a new computer system and things so part of their new updates.

I was surprised by how quiet the room was, so plus plus, hooray. The lobby and staff were welcoming. The lobby was beautiful and smelled so good! The room was a bit dark and dungeon like. The bed was too low, which added to the dungeon feel - I felt like I was groveling about the ground. And there is little you can do about the area, but Geary and the surrounds needs some attention: Clean up and safety. I knew what I was doing when I booked in the area, I'm just wondering how a newcomer would feel.

One of our rooms was not ready 30 minutes after check in time. The front desk then said they would upgrade to a Grande Suite but that’s what we had already paid for. Felt like they were trying to be sneaky about it after I showed them what we had booked. Then comes the “destination fee”. This was explained as $31. The actual amount is $37 per day. So on top of the amount I already paid for 2 rooms, I am being charged another $150. That is unacceptable- I spoke with customer service after seeing the charge but they said nothing could be done. I do not recommend the Warwick due to the shady practices. Spend your money elsewhere
