The hostel sends a text to give the code and information about the stay. We did not get it and when we arrived, we called them, no answer, we texted, no response. We waited outside the building for almost an hour. We booked at 10pm or so and arrived at 11:00 pm. We did not keep anyone from booking the room since we only had booked an hour before and it was late. The hostel would not return our money, even though they did not help us to get into the building and into the room. We never got in and had to find another hotel at midnight. They say they sent the text or email, it is possible but the point is that we never received it and were unable to get a hold of them or to use the room. We had driven many hours and were exhausted. It was a very negative experience because they were unresponsive. At the end they should have returned our money. They refused, even though it is the right thing to do.

The signage made the expectations and rules clear. I didn't like breakfast starting so late because I had to leave early. Something for early risers would be awesome!

The property was it a great location The guy is sleeping on the couch smelled like feet nice and was scary to see when waking up at 6 AM.

The hostel is closed from 11 to 4:30. It should clearly have stated that when reserving. There are lots of things to do in SLO…but one day I scheduled myself to hangout at the hostel to write and mingle.

Great location, a quick walk from shops, cafes etc. It is easy to park as they have spots behind the building and there is plenty of free street parking available. Great pancakes as always mentioned but be aware it’s self-serve! Got quite hot at night. Shower was a bit dirty

Located near Amtrak was good. Breakfast was good(free) I wasn't fond of sourmilk pancakes Did not like rooming with children. Did not like the group that just hung out on the property smoking
