Comfort Inn Beach/Boardwalk Area

Terrible customer service!!!!!!! The man working the front desk was incredibly rude and frustrating to communicate with. The saving grace of this hotel is the proximity to the beach/boardwalk.

It was horrible , loud and nothing worked , lots of clicking noises , front desk called me three times asking when I’ll check in and would t let us stay parked the next. The room was very clean and the staff very nice. Also it was an easy walk to the board walk. It was a good value. They also have free breakfast. I don’t eat much at breakfast but I went down to grab a roll. Other people were eating and the food looked delicious. My house keeper was very nice. I didn’t intend to swim because I was going to the beach, but pool was not very clean. The coffee maker and the refrigerator tilted but they both worked.

Easy walk to and from Beach Boardwalk. The sheets and towels were not very clean!!!

It’s within walking distance of the boardwalk and downtown Santa Cruz so the location is great. They offer a small breakfast in the morning. Nothing to brag home about but enough to cover the bases. The rooms are nice and clean. Ours had a little table and chairs so we had a comfy spot to eat out take out. The parking lot is hard to navigate. Super small and limited parking. Watched a guy scrape the side of his large truck trying to navigate in and out. If you have an oversized vehicle parking will be a nightmare.

The location was great Breakfast served late. No coffee until after 7:00 Am. Parking sucked had to park in the alley. Refrigerator clicked all night.Kept us up.Not a very good breakfast.I would Not stay there again.

Very convenient walking distance to the boardwalk and they have complimentary breakfast and my daughter lived the pool .

Very clean Parking

We travel to Santa Cruz twice a year for a local triathlon. It can be difficult to find a room that is decently priced but also provides a clean, reliable space to sleep. We have tried just about every hotel in this area at a similar price point and started to think we just have to deal with crappy rooms for these races. Usually the rooms are dirty, the neighbors are loud, the staff are hard to find etc. but we had the complete opposite experience here! For a pet friendly hotel, our room showed no signs of previous pets and was very clean overall. We were so pleasantly surprised at how kind and helpful the entire staff were. From the front desk to the cleaners, everyone was in a great mood and just happy to chat or help you with whatever you needed. They upgraded our room at check-in because a guest ahead of us needed a ground floor room, which was great considering we had to store our bikes inside with us overnight. We also wanted to grab a quick lunch before driving out of town and they were kind enough to let us leave our car after check-out so we didn't have to pay at the boardwalk. This place feels like you're staying with extended family members. We will definitely be staying here each year for our races! Based on its close proximity to the boardwalk, Saturday nights are a little loud but that is to be expected.
