Hotel Sobrado

The concept of the hotel is inspiring. I liked to see hotel staff at the reception desk smiling, but unfortunately the maids at the breakfast saloon were not smiling at all.

There's a bit of a walk to the beach, but the price is worth it. The internet through the free wifi was choppy at times, this would also affect the TV box.

Clean hotel all around and friendly staff Kettle in each room as a norm. our room did not have one. Construction noise from nearby building work was audible in the day.

The staff nothing was a problem the food was awesome and what a choice the location very near the centre beach and bars and restaurants I have stayed in a few hotels in santa Maria so nothing is the answer

We book a taxi with sobrado to pick us up at the airport but they forgotten. After we wait for a while we got a taxi by ourselves. Have to walk a little (10min) to get to the city center.

Not much to be honest, this was a 2-3* hotel at best, yet they charge 4* prices—adding a pool in the backyard with no sun loungers and throwing in second-hand gym equipment to claim 4*. The worst bit is they sell it like with a view, the view is on a construction site, please look on the map it’s right next to a busy gas/petrol station, not holiday island vibes at all. The walk to the beach is more like 25 mins not 10 like they said. When you finally get to the beach, they forget to tell you that you should take a beach towel with you, so after all that walking, you’re left unprepared. Every night the pipes are squeaking and making noises to the point you can’t sleep, they keep the outside lights on till 1am you can’t turn them off, which is impossible to sleep with. The breakfast is foul, all left out for birds and flies to nibble and eat on, the staff every day could not make simple eggs, always burning everything they cooked. The coffee was so bad, it was really bad. The rooms have this awful empty foam mattress, with two people you just sink into each other; my back was bad the whole trip with no support. During our stay the bidet stop worked and was leaking on the floor, these things happen but having to have a maintenance man in our room for half the first day was not exactly what I expect in my first day. They refused to change the room, all I got was their local saying which is “no stress” There is much more affordable and more beautiful properties on the island, don’t keep feeding this standard of hotel at this price - sad that booking.com was push this properly to me as genius level 3 VIP - starting not to trust their suggesting of where to stay

Staff were very helpful, facilities good. Clean, large, comfortable room Air con excellent Bar and restaurant prices extremely competitive compared to other restaurants in the area. Noisy fan outside the room.

The staff were very friendly and helpful The cleaning in the room was not up to par. The food was underwhelming. Given one key for two people so this posed an inconvenience when going our separate ways. The hotel itself is lifeless and by no means a 4 star hotel. It is surrounded by barren land and building sites - like much of Sal. Thankfully we were only there for 2 nights on the last leg of our trip. I would never want to stay here for a full holiday
