Quirky Lots of steps to room

Very beautiful view by the room, we have hammock, very nice and helpful staff, tasty breakfast The hostel was near Main Street so was noisy, cold water in the shower

Location next to park entrance was great. The Chilean guy at the front desk was very helpful. very picturesque location in the middle of nature, there were fans in the room The guy working in the restaurant/store was unfriendly, mosquito nets didn’t fully close (although there weren’t many mosquitos), on site restaurant was very mediocre. Given the cost of everything close to the park and the fact that you don’t have a kitchen you can cook in yourself I would stay in Santa Marta and do day trips to Tayrona if I came again.

The location is very good, very beautiful surroundings and facilities are OK. There is non stop noise frome the highway beside the hotel, and a neighbor has really loud misic until 2 am, therefore sleeping was a challenge. Internet access was not always available.

Beautiful view from the top cabanas and a nice jungle around. A few of the cabanas are really pretty. People working here are very nice. Breakfast is small but good. You must try the coffee. Shuttle to the entrance of Tayrone Park for free (4 minutes by moto or car) so it is close. There is a pool. WiFi is stabile and fast. No air condition inside the rooms so it is quite hot. No hot water in the bath. You can hear the noise from the road close by because the walls are very thin. No fridge in the room - very basic interior. There are many gaps between the walls and doors so the moskitos will come inside. I killed 15 in one night but still a few got my blood. Those little parasits visiting were quite a minus.

Faciliies, cabin, jungle view, pool with a small waterfall. Very very helpful and accomodating stuff. I spoke to multiple people and everyone tried to step out of their way to help me. Very good hospitality The only thing that is not great about this place is that it is locate right beside a transit road. It is both good and bad. The good part is that all transportation options (buses to Santa Marta, Tayrona, Guachaca, Palomino, Barranquilla, Riohacha) stop right in front. The Santa Marta-Palomino route is plied every 10 minutes and cost 8000 COP.. So it is trivial to get to the entranced of park Tayrona or back from them to the hotel. But it is also bad that the trucks and buses produce a lot of noise that can be heard from the hotel cabins. It is really unfortunate to have a great jungle mountain view from your window/hamock, which is ruined but the noise of diesel engines.

Loved the setting. Beautiful cabins. There are lots of steps - this did not bother us but good to know!

Ecohostal Rio Piedra is a great place to stay. Good food, spacious rooms, and the staff is absolutely accommodating. The helped us with everything they could. 100 % recommended!

The property itself was very cool! The bungalows were set in the stone and high up so it felt very jungle esque! The hammock on the balcony was a lovely extra touch. The food was a fantastic price in the evenings, much better than other dinners we found in the area! The breakfast was good too. Staff were very friendly and we got a free shuttle to the park. The dog called Zeus is super friendly!! The shower was cold. There were some small bugs but that is to be expected because of the area!

We stayed in one of the cabins on top. Perfect views with a hammock! they just opened a small shopping mall with a few restaurants just across the street. with great pizza and local food.

The location is far from the main city, which makes it so amazing for a nice and relaxing stay. The place is beautiful and the scenery we woke up to every day was magical. The pools are amazing and the service as well. Good breakfast. Totally worth it to stay here! The wifi wouldn’t work in all the areas of the hotel but totally understandable since it’s located on a mountain.

The rooms (which are almost like tree houses) are built into the side of the mountain and surrounded by gorgeous jungle. The location and the ambiance are really wonderful. The breakfasts were simple but decent and they had dinner available each night (note that dinner is NOT included in the price). The hotel is very close to Tayrona park entrance and they provide a shuttle to get there. There wasn't any hot water, wifi was spotty in rooms. The rooms are relatively sealed off, however we woke up to ants in our room in the morning. Not bad, but expect a glamping experience :). Make sure to bring cash to pay for your room as their card reader was down when we arrived.

Beautiful location in the woods, built into the boulders. Good food, nice staff, two pools and they drove me to the Tayrona entrance for free. If you don't like stairs, this is not a good place for you. Although they had my credit car through Booking.com, they required that I send them a 50% deposit by bank transfer (this is common in Colombia, but if I didn't live here it would have been a hassle)

The owner is nice and offered us a free ride to Tayrona park and gave us 2 free water bottles. The location is nice, close to Tayrona park which was why we went there so very convenient location. the facility had a very jungly feeling with lots of birds chirping. The staff (away from the owner) can be greatly improved by becoming more customer-oriented. There is only one staff member who could speak English to help us with our requests. Be prepared that there wont be electricity in the room during the daytime (until 6 pm) We requested an early check-in (11 Am) on booking.com in advance which was acknowledged and approved by the hotel but when we arrived we were forced to wait a long while and they ignored the fact that we requested an early-check in. The breakfast was very basic and the menu was not clear. The paper menu itself was not very appealing. very old stained paper that was the menu. The hotel restaurant needs to be improved, especially that the hotel is not in a city so very limited food options around. The room was very basic only the bed and night stand. No where to hang your clothes. no shower head, only a tube where the water comes out from. It would have been better to stay in Santa Marta if you want to visit Tyrona park as there several transportation means back and forth.
