Gateway Hotel Santa Monica

Very good

Great staff! Clean comfortable hotel with good value price. Great location- not too close but still very close to Santa Monica Beach, family friendly beach area. We took bus #1 or #4, 4-5 quick stops and you are on the beach, no hassle with parking in this busy beach area. A lot of restaurants including world famous British restaurant Kings Head where multiple celebrities had diner. Beach is huge and pretty safe if you stay close to the Santa Monica pier. If you are going further from the pier - a lot of unfortunate homeless people reside on the beach. Santa Monica pier is famous place of tourist attractions, good to visit one time with kids. Hotel location gives you exposure to the beach and also relatively short drive to Los Angeles tourist places. Included breakfast would be great plus if you stay with kids.

That it was close to where my family and were going. The property was clean and quiet. The staff were helpful and friendly. And it was minutes away from restaurants and stores. There was nothing that I didn't like

Thank you so much for giving us such a comfortable and quiet room for our last two nights in LA. The location was convenient, and the service was friendly and attentive. We had a wonderful stay and truly appreciated the warm hospitality. It was a great way to end our LA trip!

The staff were so helpful and friendly. We were given such a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel has been recently refurbished and the room was modern and comfortable. Car parking was reasonably priced and easy to access. Nothing; we loved it here.

Room smelled like old soup. We checked in and immediately found another hotel. We were there for less than an hour total. Will not return

Great location. Very clean and comfortable. The staff was great and it's perfect if you just need the basics. I wish they had a small microwave.
