Wonderful staff and calm courtyard for coffee. The decor is really beautiful and the building has a lot of character. It is off of a main road, so know that the traffic sound does not stop- ever. Main road traffic, all day and night. There is a nice area to walk in but it does not feel very inviting for the solo traveler.

The staff was wonderful! Helpful in every way The location was a toss up. It was sketchy but a huge group of wonderful restaurants a few blocks away was great. Close to San Cristobal. Kept suitcases on first and last day before and after check in and out This hotel was a last minute choice but rated well. There is no elevator but staff helped carry luggage up. I read some reviews for breakfast that said it was good. I am not sure how you came to that conclusion. I have traveled many times in central and south America I have never had a lacking breakfast like this. They cook the eggs in a fry pan but then put them in a metal container but never turn the heat on so cold unless the first person after cooked. A tiny bowl of cut up fruit.No napkins at tables you have to go get a sheet of paper towel from kitchen area. The "pool" is more like a plunge pool maybe 12 ft by 4 ft. Our room was an ok size but the couch had stains all over it. There is dirt on in bathroom areas. The shower is very small. I don't believe the duvet had been washed for a while. The first night we felt some cool air after that nothing 3 Rd night we were sweating even someone slept with there room door open. It is a good price if you aren't expecting much.

I liked the aged, traditional atmosphere of the high ceilings, many rooms, and woodwork contrasted with the modern pool and Wifi. I felt safe and secure at all times. The shower was nice and hot. The personnel at the desk were very competent and helpful at all times. Good breakfast that was available for a wide amount of time: 7:30-10am Our room faced the street that was noisy with traffic sounds all night. A/C was off until we asked to turn on.

The breakfast was great - one of the highlights. They had eggs, ham, salami, fresh bread, yogurt, fresh pastries, juice, coffee with frothed milk, fruit, etc. Also, the staff was great, very friendly and accommodating. The gym is nice to get a lift in. The hotel felt clean. It's an older building that had been renovated. Big TVs in the room. They also have a free water bottle filler which was great. The location is good, a 5-10 minute walk from the main area in Bellavista (consitiution ave). This would have been a 10/10 if not for a couple things. First, they advertise having rooms with AC, but it's really a central AC which is under lock and key with the staff. So, the AC is usually kept at 24 C / 75 F, which by our standards, barely constitutes having AC. We asked every night to turn the AC down, which they did, except a few hours later, they would always turn the AC back up again or completely off... (we heard them turning it up/off at 2-3am). This bothered us. Secondly, the walls are genuinely paper thin. The first night we heard out neighbors TV until 3am, and unfortunately, our room was facing the main road and it was soooo loud. My husband had to buy earplugs just to sleep. It didn't bother me as much because I am not as sensitive to noise. This also meant we couldn't leave the window open at night to get cooler air as it was even louder with the window open and bugs would get in (no bug screens). Anyway, if you had a room not facing the main road / no annoying neighbors, this would be less of an issue. If either of those issues wouldn't bother you, then it's a great stay!

There was a lot of awesome stuff. The breakfast was really good fresh food with plenty of options. The staff were great, always willing to help and come up with solutions. Plus, the location was nice; it’s right in an old neighborhood but just a short walk to the modern downtown. This is a small detail. This is a three-floor colonial building with no elevator, so moving your luggage up the narrow stairs can be challenging. A small cargo elevator could be very helpful.

This is a lovely and welcoming small hotel in a wonderful location. The building has been recently renovated and is nicely decorated. Staff were amazing-knew what I needed/wanted before I asked and were so kind and friendly. Very clean room, comfortable bed, and very quiet in the hotel. I highly recommend!
