The location is perfect! It’s only a 4-minute walk to both the Zona Colonial and the Malecón. There are also plenty of restaurants, colmados, and exchange houses nearby. The room was spacious, and so was the bathroom—perfect for two people! We only stayed for one night, but we definitely wouldn’t have minded staying longer. Everything was clean, and there was plenty of toilet paper without us having to ask for more. Our room was ready when we arrived, and after checking out at 12 p.m., they kindly allowed us to leave our luggage there. Communication was always fast and helpful, even before our arrival. The girl at the front desk was very friendly as well. I would definitely come back! Everything was great, but there’s always room for improvement. When we arrived at the property around 11 a.m., there was no power. While this wasn’t something the property could control, power outages are quite common in the Dominican Republic, so it might be worth considering installing a generator. It was very hot, even with the windows open, but fortunately we only needed to freshen up before heading out to explore the city. Thankfully, the electricity was back by the time we returned that evening. A mini fridge would also be a nice addition, especially for guests staying longer. Other than that, we didn’t experience any inconveniences!

Great location to Colonial zone, code access security to the hotel and room Water heating works lowly. I had to wait about 5 mins to flush and heat water and take a shower.

Location - near the attractions of Zona Colonial, Malecon, restaurants, Calle El Conde. Franky, the owner is friendly and helpful. Gave me several free cold bottles of water. Access to the Front Door and my room is by the same code. None

Exceptional

Really loved our stay at La Aldea. The location is just a couple of blocks from both the Malecon and the pedestrian precinct leading to the cathedral and the fortaleza, so it's perfect. It is also very quiet and peaceful at night. Entry to the front door and the rooms are by key code, which is super convenient. Rooms are very confortable, spotlessly clean and the bed was great, as was the shower. A/C worked great, quietly and the light could be turned off for a peaceful sleep along with good curtains so it was dark. Best of all was our fabulous host Frankie, who was super welcoming, friendly and a great source of excellent recommendations for places to eat and visit. He kept us up to date on what was going on in town, so we were able to see Carnival, which was awesome!

Great find. Clean, cold AC, great location, and well priced. Owner cooked a delicious dinner and breakfast. If we come back to DR, we will stay here again.

Air Conditioner kept room cool but did not lower humidity. Clothes did not dry.

Great stay. Nice facilities, the place was bright, clean and tidy. Staff was helpful and friendly. Franky, the owner, was very attentive and provided fantastic service. The hotel is located in the heart of the colonial zone where everything is within a short walking distance.

La Aldea was perfectly located in Colonial Santo Domingo. There are lots of restaurants in the area. And it seemed very safe. The room was super clean, had air conditioning, and Franky was very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
