Best Western Schaumburg – O’Hare NW

The location. It was a convenient location for our days activities. The room was really bad. There were crickets climbing up the walls. The tv didn’t work, the Wi-Fi was aweful, the phone didn’t work to call the front desk, the usb ports did not work. The floor did not appear to be vacuumed. There was some sort of bodily fluids splattered on the inside of the bathroom door. The parking lot was a mess to navigate, was being redone. The outside traffic was extremely loud. Not really sure if the deadbolt lock on our door actually worked…. Did not sleep well at all! We were supposed to stay 2 nights, we only stayed one, I found a new location, I could not stay there another night.

The location’s proximity to the expressway is great. The breakfast could be better, there are food options closeby; it was difficult to communicate with staff but they were polite. The parking lot paved is a hazard, hopefully they have upcoming improvements. Good price.

Breakfast was basic, but good. Had the expected usuals, like cereal, eggs and toast with a couple of different spread to choose from. Liked the yoghurt machine and the waffle iron. Some more selection of bread or bagels. Would be nice with a couple of added choices of fresh spread or fresh fruit.

The parking lot is “under construction”. The pool was closed as well for a two year project. A hotel with a pool was a deciding factor on making a reservation. The man the registration desk was blunt and unwelcoming to a long line of people as they entered the lobby. Gave an impression that simply walking in to check-in was an issue. The first room I was given was hot with a very loud (comparable to a jackhammer) air conditioner. I asked for a repair but was told to come down to desk for a new room. Once downstairs, I was expected to once again wait at the end of a long line of traveler’s with airline vouchers. The second room was muggy the entire three nights. The breakfast was ok. No real fresh fruit despite the sign to “customize your oatmeal”. Coffee was not available in the breakfast area so you had to go to lobby. Not convenient for those traveling with children. Overall, the room was stained, worn, and orangish mold in bathroom.

The stage seemed professional and nice! The staff let us stay beyond check out time because we had a later flight, that made our stay so much nicer! Some of the facilities were run down

They HAVE ROACHES! When we requested a room change, they informed us that there were no available rooms. Consequently, we had to leave the hotel and were not entitled to a refund.
