The hotel fully met the expectations. The staff is extremely friendly, welcoming and very professional, everyone spoke excellent English, except the kitchen ladies who explained themselves anyway with a little English and a lot of kindness. The breakfast is a honest version of the Turkish breakfast, everything was fresh and well prepared. The room, especially the bathroom, was in need of maintenance, probably because it was the end of the season, but no major issues, the bed was clean and the AC (much needed, in August) worked very well. The location is superb, and the area is very quiet despite being literally seconds away from downtown *and* the Saint John Basilica. The parking is not a private lot, but there is always room along the road leading to the Castle, along the Basilica walls, just in front of the hotel door. It's on a public road, though it's a very quiet and safe area. There were several issues with the door, the shower and the bathroom that could have been fixed with a little maintenance, but nothing major.

The hotel Bella was in a prime location across the street and a block away from the basilica of St. John. It was also very near to the center of town and a quiet little neighborhood. Emphasis was a short drive away. The breakfast was only five euro, but I would choose to eat out rather than have it. It was the only drawback of the hotel experience.

A beautiful building in a wonderful location. (Our room terrace overlooked the ruins of The Basilica of St. John.) The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom is small but perfectly fine. The staff was friendly and helpful, despite some language barrier issues. (My Turkish is almost non-existent.) And great value for the money. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying overnight or longer in the area. Almost nothing not to like. I suppose one might be warned that the breakfast is pretty simple (and the coffee unfortunately instant), but that seems true of many inns or hotels in relatively small towns. That said, the service was great, and the view from the terrace where one eats is simply amazing.
