Large room and balcon with amazing ocean view. Olsen (spa) in the open with amazing ocean view. Nice beach walk we had. Exceptional breakfast. Free parking. Outer swimming pool was closed, but probably due to the weather.

Absolutely gorgeous views ( seaside view) Lovely staff Clean Great free transportation to and from the station and also to the hydrangea festival ( June) I wished there was also a cold bath and sauna in the spa ( the website describes the facilities accurately it’s just something that I think would greatly improve the experience)

Great service and location. The view is great. Shuttle service was convenient. The only con was that it is located on a large hill so walking up was difficult but they have shuttle service and taxi is inexpensive to town.

It was a beautiful spot and spectacular scenery. The staff were lovely and helpful, especially the older gentleman at the door. The breakfast buffet was great, tons of variety and different food items. It’s a bit of an uphill stroll coming back from town but always good to work off some calories from eating everything in sight. The beach close by to the property is also so beautiful. Will bring tears to your eyes. It’s quite warm with no AC in the rooms and the beds are very tiny.

Very friendly staff and so helpful. Very clean room and facilities. Comfortable bed and pillow. Beautiful views and location. There was nothing I didn’t like but I would have liked a clothes iron in room.

I really enjoyed the view, the wonderful mix of Western and traditional Japanese breakfast items, and the nice staff members, especially Aya who is bilingual and speaks both English and Japanese. Honestly there was nothing to complain about maybe other than the fact that it's up a really big hill and it's a bit of a walk to the more busy area of Shimoda with restaurants but I drove to the hotel in a van so I didn't find it bad.

Excellent breakfast. Beautiful views. Nice room. We had a sea view. We didn’t mind the walk into town although the hill is steep and it would be a challenge with poor health. They do have a shuttle bus that goes regularly but not later into evening. Would have been nice if the lounge was open later afternoon evening for a drink.

liked the view and the layout of the rooms and of the hotel in general reception/lobby team did a good job, more than expected old building only partially renovated. same for the amenities: new toilet/washlet, old bathtub/shower, wallpaper etc. location accessibility: if your car is bigger than a kei car, the road to the hotel will be challenging hotel restaurant organization/staff: arrived in the evening and went to the restaurant without reservation around 6:30PM, we were asked to wait until 8PM. went to dine out (by car), and noticed that the dining room had plenty vacancies to accommodate us, if they wanted. few vending machines/options in the area - no nearby combini.

Even if it's an "old" hotel, it has been renewed properly in the important areas, is comfy and clean. The breakfast has a lot of choice (Japanese/Western), it even has a pancake machine. Nothing special. It is on top of a hill so you don't want to go there with a luggage without a taxi/shuttle/car etc...
