Shiraraso Grand Hotel

Spacious room with a lovely beach view. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel, and the back entrance leads directly to the beach, making it incredibly convenient. Across the street are a Lawson, a large 24-hour supermarket, and a huge Daiso, so everything you need is within easy reach. I even printed some of my travel photos as postcards at Lawson and mailed them back to Singapore from the post office just one bus stop away. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Everything exceeded our expectations. We would happily stay here again.

Shirahama is a great place, we'll definitely comeback since it's only an hour away from our place. Other Japanesse Staff is friendly however the other isn't nice maybe because we're foreigner. However this hotel seems old. The hotel room is kinda old, you don't get the price you pay, nothing is amazing in this place except the beach and the view of course. unfortunately we haven't had a chance to use the pool I don't know why it's just the staff said it's not open. Food wasn't great especially the jappanesse set. Onsen facility is very old too some parts of this hotel isn't clean.

The Shiraraso is right on the beach. It’s clean and friendly. My room was an amazing Japanese tatami room with western (comfortable beds). Nice bedding and pillows. It had an amazing view of the beach. I didn’t really want to leave the room. Has a nice Onsen, good size, clean. Breakfast was good. You have a choice of buffet or Japanese style. There is a lovely lounge as well, with free juice drinks part of the day. And servers ice cream all the time (paid). There is a gift shop there too and a Lawsons just a couple min walk to. (Maybe two mins if you walk slow). Shirahama Beach is beautiful and a great place for some beach time. The hotel does not have a cafe for dinner. (But does have a few food items you can purchase in the lounge) there did not seem to be many Cafes around the area. A few.

Location right on the beach was quiet and beautiful. Room was spacious, but there were drawbacks. Problems started at check in. The property has absolutely no flexibility with their check-in time which is at 3 PM. Even if your room is ready, they want to charge you ¥3300 an hour for early check-in! This is ridiculous and shows that they have poor customer service. We also didn’t sleep well because our room was too hot and when I asked about the air conditioning, I was told that the hotel controls the temperature for all of the rooms, even though there were two AC control panels in our room that did not work. So we slept for two nights with the room at 75°. 25°C. I asked what we could do to cool the room down since they were the ones controlling it and they told us to open a window which we did and then mosquitoes came in our room. So we paid quite a bit for an ocean view room and ended up not being able to sleep well. We just got the feeling that the staff didn’t care and we were the only western tourists there. Everybody else was Japanese and the staff didn’t speak English.

This hotel has a beautiful location on a white sand crescent beach. Our room was large and comfortable. We opted for the half-board meal plan which included a choice of a Japanese set menu breakfast or combo western/Japanese buffet (our choice and very good) and a Japanese set menu dinner in a private room ( also very good). This a family-friendly hotel, so expect some children, even more so in summer months. The hotel has couple of self-service washer and dryer sets which is great. However be prepared to wash when they open or later at night. I can imagine the competition for these machines when the hotel is full. It is about 3 miles from Shirahama train station. We opted for a taxi both ways. The shuttle bus service is actually on scheduled local buses which appeared cumbersome for people with suitcases. I believe the one way taxi fare was close to 1000 yen.

Awesome location, right by a bus stop and practically on the beach. The staff were very nice and breakfast was perfect. The two onsen were great too. I’d love to come back! Unfortunately you can’t get dinner if you don’t request it before check-in, but there’s lots of good places in the area.

Amazing location, great view and the staff are the best; they're so kind and hospitable it was such a great stay.

Staff was very nice. The location next to the beach is very nice. Very old room and small without a view which was surprising given the price and the hotel being 4 stars (the price was substantial compared to what we've paid elsewhere).

The room is clean. The ocean view from the onsen on 2nd floor is spectacular. The staffs are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast and dinner are great and variety. The breakfast and dinner schedules are too strict for us. They serve breakfast only at 7 and 8 am, and dinner at 6 and 7 pm
