The hosts were the nicest people and gave us so much information about Siem Reap that made our short stay so much better.

We had the room with the private pool and outdoor sitting area, which was wonderful. The room was a bedroom and a separate sitting room, both were very large, and comfortable. The breakfast was simple but very good, the outdoor restaurant tables were in a lovely garden, and the whole place is quite magical. It is a very small, family run hotel, with really nice staff. I don't want to imply that it is fancy, because it is not, but it is really special and relaxing. The room was clean but is a little older, so could probably use a tiny bit of a touch up.

We had the most wonderful stay at Maison 557. The owners and staff were so friendly and kind, they not only helped with activities around the area but gave us an insight to life in Siem Reap. Chef Mengly and his staff create the most delicious Cambodian food in Siem Reap. It was such a bonus to have PinakPou restaurant in the Maison. It’s a must to eat here. Be sure to do the cooking class with Chef Mengly, you wont be disappointed. We were fortunate to enjoy a day in the village with Mengly and his family, fishing and a picnic in the rice fields. A day to remember. The location is very central with a short walk to the riverside night markets, yet one feels miles away tucked under the trees in Maison 557. Tours to the temples are easy from here. We extended our stay here to 8 nights we enjoyed it so much. We will be back! It was an all round fantastic stay. Thank you Maison 557 and PinakPou staff!

Location, staff, ambience Lake of lighting in room very dark

Centrally located, yet very quiet, this 8 room hotel has the friendliest, most accommodating staff and large rooms. The outdoor shower is huge and the weather is perfect for it. The bed is huge and I slept very well. The breakfast is made to order, or you can pre-order it the morning before if you have an early tour. In all, highly recommend. The made to order breakfast can take a while, even if you order something simple like a sandwich (took half an hour), so schedule accordingly.

It is my third stay in this hotel. I like the location, the gardens. The owners are nice and hard working. There is also their cute dog friendly to everyone. Sadly, this time, I have been disappointed. I got a room right on the street, very noisy, between two loud restaurants. Small details but important for a traveller: plugs that did not work, towels with holes in them, dirty toilets when I arrived, no kettle. I asked for toilet paper, and this was never given to me, and I had to find some by myself at 11pm when I realised that. There used to be a delicious breakfast, which is now not included anymore in the price: for a "bed and breakfast", I feel this makes no sense anymore. So, instead,I went to the delicious French bakery next door.

Very clean, modern room and lovely open plan bathroom. Beautiful soaps and bathroom kit provided, good overhead shower. Overall good ambience in the restaurant and bar area out the front. We managed to pre-order our breakfast as we were leaving early the next day which was really helpful. Central location, 5 mins away from most things (apart from Angkor Wat, 15 mins) and places to eat and minimarkets a short walk away. Really pleased with our stay for the price! We only stayed for 1 night so didn't get to use the pool. There is no door for the bathroom in case this is something that bothers you (again, was doable for us for only 1 night!) Our bed was very high up (2x mattresses) could do with a nightstand to put phone on. I think our room was closest to the restaurant and could hear pots clanging from the kitchen at night and the music continued until around 11 even though no-one was there, could've been turned down for us but I'm nitpicking a bit here!! We would stay here again.

Location is convenient. Friendly and welcoming staff. Cleanliness can be improved. It’s hard to feel comfortable in a property that’s not clean.

The owner and staffs of the hotel were extremely friendly. They were actively contacting me before my arrival to make sure they were ready to welcome me. The check in process was very smooth. They have a super cute and playful dog. The room is basic yet comfy. The neighborhood is right in the city center of Siem Reap, many good restaurants and cafes are within 5 minutes walking distance. The facilities inside the room were not too many. I didn't get a hairdryer, toilet paper ran out on the third night and because all the staffs were off work I couldn't ask for help.

As per previous reviews, the bed was extremely hard, but it was ok for us. We were very lucky and had excellent service as there were not many bookings at the time we were there. Having your own pool was magnificent, but see other comments about the privacy, but that didnt bother us. The wifi was very hit and miss.

Everything was fine. Twin beds provided comfort for my friend and myself. I had a health episode to which the staff responded quickly and admirably. Lighting fixtures were positioned a bit oddly.

Lovely staff, central location, great restaurant. Music in bar was a bit dated.

Room: Our stay in the hotel was very comfortable. The room was spacious, offering enough space to accommodate an additional bed for a child. The bed itself was large, ensuring a good night's sleep. The presence of two air conditioning units kept the room pleasantly cool. The bathroom was equally spacious, providing ample room to move around. One of the highlights was the private pool, which was quite large and a perfect way to cool down after exploring the temples. The hotel also provided filtered drinking water at the breakfast area, allowing us to refill our water bottles conveniently. Overall, the room felt homely and welcoming. Breakfast: The breakfast menu was simple but satisfying. While it wasn't an extensive spread, the quality of the food was good, making for a pleasant start to the day. They even provided breakfast in a take-away box when we had to leave early for our flight. Hospitality: The hospitality at the hotel was exceptional. A special mention goes to Kimyon and team, who was remarkably quick in attending to all our requests. The taxi and tuk-tuk drivers arranged by the hotel were also commendable; they were not only good in English but also provided excellent service. Security was available during night hours, offering an added sense of safety and assisting guests in crossing the road. Location: The hotel's location was very convenient. It was just a 5-minute walk to Pub Street and the market area, where there were plenty of restaurants and shops. For immediate needs, there was a mini-mart just opposite the road. Additionally, several street food vendors, restaurants, and shops were in close proximity, making it easy to find something to eat or shop at any time. There were a few areas for improvement. The room and facilities appeared somewhat dated and could benefit from some refurbishment. The towels provided could have been newer. The water pressure in the bathroom could have been better. Additionally, while the breakfast was good, a more varied spread would have enhanced the overall experience.

I have stayed here before and will stay here again. I love the Wat Bo area and Maison 557 offers the bonus of a well-regarded chef! I love the garden environment - especially sitting there and eating the delicious food!
