Location, staff, good size of rooms I purposely looked for a hotel I could use my streaming device to watch the World Cup football, then to be told the TV’s are no longer in operation, but is still advertised on online travel agencies

What a terrible, terrible transformation! La Bastide de Caro used to be a 4-star Boutique resort. Not anymore. It is a backpacker hostel. The new owners ruined the place totally. Beautiful restaurant is now a canteen with long tables; the former very good breakfast is now just a memory. It has been replaced by a below average hostel breakfast. Reception is now outside instead of in the reception room. I was afraid of something is not as it used to be already when checking in, the patio room that I booked and paid – not available, 6-7 pairs of well-worn flip-flops/ sneakers outside of every door. Meaning some other things would not be correct either – and how right I was. And of course, the rooms have TVs, but not connected, so the TV is only part of the decoration. What a waste of a nice hotel. If you are NOT a backpacker, do not book this. And don’t believe the photos on websites, it is nothing like that anymore. Very disappointed, however the staff are still good and I feel for them. Sad. And finally, thanks for ruining my well-deserved short vacation by providing an unforgettable (bad) experience! The price, the location and the room size are good It has less amenities to enjoy
-
Great pool area and bar to sip beers The bed was a little too firm for me

We had a fantastic stay!! Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely pool area. Really excellent breakfast. Large and spacious room, very nicely appointed. We would definitely stay there again in the future!

Sometimes The music by the pool was loud.

Location is good, Breakfast was excellent, a lot of choices. Ambience in general was good. Garden is nice. Staff was good. Wi-Fi: speed was ok but coverage was very bad. Couldn't use in patio or bathroom. Kept going off and on all the time. Work desk: The chair was very low, and the desk very high. Also the chair felt like it would collapse anytime. Patio: The chairs very, very low, maybe around 15 cm from ground! Facial tissues in dispenser: Rough, bad quality, more like public toilet hand towels. TV: There was a TV, but no remote. And the reason was problems with cable. This is usually problem when the property is not paying the service and the supplier cuts the service. This was annoying and on top of that, wanted to watch a movie on Netflix on my laptop, but I could not because of the poor internet. Bed: Hard mattress and the bedsheet was not big enough to cover the mattress. All in all: details were not monitored at all. What used to be good 10 years ago is not necessaraly good any more.

Large, clean rooms with comfortable beds and a lovely balcony! And the breakfast was wonderful as is the restaurant area.

Room size. The kettle was terribly dirty; someone had left tea in it and it was covered in mold. The breakfast waiters were slow, unprofessional, and didn't understand simple things. One of them laughed in my face when I asked to make changes to my order. The breakfast itself was okay, although they could have offered gluten-free bread.

Very nice staff and location, nice design Very uncomfortable beds. Extremely poor quality of breakfast like the bacon was literally brown instead of pink and even though breakfast WAS INCLUDED in the price they ask extra money for coffees which it was NOT specified before

Location, swimming pool, breakfast Whenever I paid at the front desk, the hotel employee never had any money in the cash register. He kept telling me, "Go somewhere and get some change and bring it to me." This is unacceptable!

The staff is absolutely spectacular – very welcoming and friendly. The hotel is spotless in every area, and the breakfast is incredibly good. The location is also perfect, close to everything you need. The only downside is the internet signal. It works for basic browsing, but if you need video calls or online conferences, it won’t be strong enough.

Awesome breakfast. Internet was spotty, not reliable for video calls.

Everything is nice to be honest . Can’t complain , was very relax. If you still deciding by pool, the pool of this hotel was amazing. The breakfast is not at the level of this hotel. It was just a lot of bread and carbs, with some pieces of fruits and something little more (very restrictive). At the end I decided not to eat breakfast and just do a good lunch even if it was inclusive .

Everything was great! We were warmly welcomed by Kim Hout who spoke great French (in addition to English of course), he has been so kind during our whole stay! The hotel itself is lovely and ideally located a few minutes walk away from the active part of the center with all the restaurants. It is very calm and the pool lovely. Breakfast was nice and you can even take it away for your early temple visits. Highly recommend! Nothing! We didn’t mind it personally, but note that there are no restaurant, only drinks available.

The staff were always friendly and informative. The bathroom in Room 5 needs to be repaired. Guests should not have to have their feet in a puddle of water every time they sit on the toilet.

Rooms were very nice and a great size, in a great location tucked away from the noise but close enough to walk to pub street / the main areas. We received welcome drinks on arrival whilst we checked in, and the staff were very friendly and helpful our whole stay. The pool was very relaxed and quiet, and felt very boujee! Definitely recommend to stay here!! TV didn't work, but didn't matter to us!
