Fabulous views, lovely room, excellent spa Staff were willing but clearly had had no training. Service slow and common areas needed a good clean

The location was perfect and the view! I know I am not the only guest to think the breakfast was disappointing. I’ve never had a cold buffet-style breakfast at a hotel where I’ve paid so much to stay the night. It’s usually a hot cooked buffet or a choice of cooked foods. Honestly, that’s the only point that dropped the score a little.

Fabulous location and view. Suite was excellent, staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast included was good, with nice range of pastries, cereals, fruit etc. Cooked breakfasts available at extra cost. Spa pool and jacuzzi pleasant with balcony view as well. Parking was by valet which needed to check with reception to identify how to access, but once done was good. Hotel dinner was erratic - same scallop dish starter had different number of scallops in each. One main out of four ordered didn’t arrive until further request made, so arrived much later.

We love that its very near to the beach and city centre where you could walk around and buy some food and souvenirs. The only thing is that i expected the hotel to be airconditioned , it was really hot during the night we had a big fan but i think because the weather was also hot.

You pay primary for the fantastic views and great location. Hotel looks great and easy on the eye for first impressions and the balcony view and services, gentleman behind the bar, fantastic… as was the first impressions from the blonde lady that greeted me. Breakfast service was a poor experience. Some issues with the room in terms of cold tap barely working and toilet door not being able to even close, let alone lock. As was there a very dated door lock on the room door, again pointless and had no function. The longer you stay, the more you notice these things, with overall apart from initial receptionist and barman, staff were poor. Windows were difficult to use, road noise and building work from the early hours, frustrating. But ending on an really bad experience of waiting near an hour for my car in order to leave (parking was also unclear to me on arrival - I must have missed the information on how it works and what to do). Whilst waiting in this time, having to repeatedly walk through reception with water coming through the ceiling and buckets an towels across the floor.

Beautiful hotel in a great location Outside - The facilities were not looked after. Tables dirty , outside seating area filthy glasses not cleared away and tables not cleaned . Cushions dirty. Bedroom - staines on the carpet and cushions was a bit off putting. Sauna - again gorgeous setting but dirty outside . Staff needed to be more on it. Breakfast - staff were lovely but not able to work effectively when it was busy.

The hotel was a short walk from the beach and town. The pool could only be accessed by my granddaughter at limited short times, as children were not allowed in the pool most of the day. Mt granddaughter is 12 and sensible and a confident swimmer. The reception asked for our car keys to park our car.(which they kept throughout our stay). When we asked for our car, we witnessed the hotel driver smoking inside our car. We are non smokekers and this was not acceptable. We reported this to reception staff who advised they would speak to him. We had no further response. We the saw the same man pressing on a car bonnet to write a parking permit ticket to place in the car. There seemed no respect for others property. Breakfast was not a great selection. You needed to pay extra for hot food. When we settled the bill on departure we noticed we were charged for drinks at the bar...which were not ours. Disappointing!

Clean. Location. Staff. Comfy bed. No Air con. Road facing room noisy with the windows open. Requiring eye mask and ear plugs. Breakfast was very average, not bad, but I wouldn’t write home about it it.

No hot water for two days. We had to complain for the staff to escalate the issue. Then hot water with no water pressure. Carpets in the room were not vacuumed once in our 6 day stay, for a beach hotel with no where else to wash your feet, it was pretty grim. The breakfast is one of the worst I have ever experienced in a hotel. The SAME limited cereal and croissants everyday and a small fruit bowl to serve everyone. Location however is excellent. Location

Great views. Room was clean comfortable, but one side of bed was against a wall. Breakfast was not very good. Lots of tables not cleared away after people. Run out of glasses at the juice part. Waitress was very rude, but I think it was due to the fact they were struggling to cope. Had to wait for tea and coffee until after finishing breakfast and no cups to drink from. Same Waitress brought the two pots asked if we needed anything else and was told cups and then came back with one cup. Stayed at the Harbour hotel in Padstow had a great experience. In a different league in the restaurant as to St. Ives. (Service and food).

Location Not being told that a wedding was being held on a week day night and being kept up until 1am from the music and guests!! Once we had got to sleep we were then woke up at 5ak from the recycling lorries! A very expensive and disappointing experience
