It was close to train station and city center yet less busy than in the harbor. Beautiful views from dining room and just above the beach. It was very hot and the window was small. But the weather was unusually warm. Windows need screens because there were some mosquitoes. However, I didn’t come across anywhere that had window screens.

The location was incredible and the staff were very welcoming. The room was cozy and with a beautiful view to the beach. The bathroom sink was the smallest sink I’ve ever seen and it also had a small shelf on top which made it impossible to use the sink to wash my face or brush my teeth. Other than that, everything was absolutely excellent.

The breakfast was of a high quality .A great choice on the menu . Excellent extras like pastries ,juice ,fruit and endless coffee and tea ..... The best thing about the hotel for me was being on the rocks and listening to the sea rolling in ...

Location, friendliness of staff and very good breakfast Hotel was a little tired looking but we heard it is due to close soon for a refurb. Also being charged £15 a day to secure parking in a car park which only cost £6.30 per day so spent £17.40 more than we needed to. This may be good value in high season to be able to book a space but not in January. We should have been advised that there may be spaces available in low season, turns out there were lots of spaces available.

The location of this hotel is wonderful with a walk of less than 3 mins to the centre of st Ives. The view from our room was stunning.

Location, view and staff were amazing! The hotel is due for a complete refurb which is starting on 9th Jan which it badly needs.

The view was spectacular. The reception on arrival was friendly and informative. The older bar man was very friendly. The room, whilst having the most spectacular view, was dirty. The ensuite doors did not close, therefore giving no privacy/separation from the bedroom. The breakfast experience was awful. We were told to sit anywhere that was laid up, so we chose a seat by the window. A very rude young man asked if we were just two people, and when we said yes, grunted, huffed, and loudly removed two place settings. Nobody explained the self-service buffet, and we had to wait a very long time to be asked for hot drinks. I then had to ask twice more for a pot of tea, which eventually arrived 20 minutes later after my partners coffee. There were at least 5 staff members, none of whom seemed to want to engage with the diners. A very shy girl then took our hot food order. We requested the shakshuka and were told it was out. This information could have been given when we sat down. Our food took again about 20 minutes to arrive. The full english breakfast had no black pudding or toast as described on the menu. We asked about this and were told to make our own toast, and she checked, and they had no black pudding. No one enquired how our food was at any point. On check out the receptionist took our key, said your good to go and then went back to scrolling on her phone. No enquiry about our stay.

Lovely cosy rooms, beautiful beach views, very generous Xmas gift bag on arrival, very friendly helpful staff, excellent Xmas dinner, very generous and varied breakfast. Lovely seaside town with lots of trendy coffee and sandwich/pastie shops The shower was cold on one day, a few more vegetarian dinner options would have been great (although the breakfast was excellent in that respect) but these were relatively minor issues since the overall stay really was fabulous and we would book again

The view is spectacular! The hotel is right on the beach and in a balcony room you can see the sea and sky which was amazing. Room was comfortable - though it did feel as if the toilet and shower were in a wardrobe… The food - I only had breakfast but it wasn’t great - low level pub grub which was disappointing.
