Neptunes Rest Guest Hotel

Very nice place! Stayed in room 5 which had a great beach view and very quiet. Emma was super friendly and helpful throughout even leaving our keys available for us when we arrived late in the PM. Breakfast was lovely and welcoming ? Stranrear is a lovely local spot with friendly townsfolk!

The breakfast was great. The sheets and pillowcases had been washed in a really strong-smelling artificial scent that was overwhelming. The mattress on the double bed needs to be replaced.

Loved the owner and her attention to detail. The place is beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. There was a lovely view out the window, and it was quiet and pleasant. Easy to make the reservation. Very amenable. There was no lift for the luggage. When I got there, her daughter took my luggage up. I had to leave before I could have breakfast, and the owner was busy with that, so I needed to take my own luggage down. She did offer to get it, after I had already done it. The only other thing is it was a bit of a walk to the nearest place to eat supper. I needed the exercise, but I would have enjoyed something a bit closer.

Good location to catch the Ferry. The people were nice Lots of running around by kids in the evening. The place could use some work.

Breakfast was excellent. Emma and her mum were gracious and very welcoming.

Everything particularly how helpful and accommodating Emma and her team were Musty smel in room no fan in bathroom but I gather they are in the process of renovating

The owner is super sweet (many locals also praised her) and was ready for our arrival. She offered to assist us with luggage up the stairs. We didn't know we were getting the penthouse room up 3 flights of stairs, but we absolutely loved the room, (with an ante room, where we kept our luggage) because of the awesome view over the park and the harbour. Perfect location! The room was very comfortable, including the bathroom and the bed. Breakfast was included with the price of the room, which was already very reasonable. The breakfast was a fully cooked meal and it was delicious. The waitress was very kind and attentive. Scottish hospitality seems to be #1 here and we found ourselves wishing we had more time to stay, both at Neptune's Rest and in Stranraer. N/A

The owners were incredibly accommodating with breakfast times, and offered to wash off my shoes for me after visiting a farm. Location was close to town and the coastal path.Breakfast was delicious!

The owners were so friendly and welcoming. We arrived later than the normal check-in time because we had a terrible time getting there from the ferry port as no cabs or Ubers were available. She checked us in quickly so we could get something to eat before everything closed down. She ordered us a cab for the next morning as well because we had an early departure to our next destination. The next morning, the cab company notified them they had no drivers , so the husband drove us to the bus station in his personal vehicle and would not accept payment. Our rooms were pristine and very accommodating for our needs. It was extremely quiet as well, which made for a good night's sleep. I would definitely recommend this place.. There were no complaints.

I liked the location with free parking in large car park. Nothing not to dislike.

Great location, very clean and well appointed . Friendly staff who go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. Emma was fantastic. Sink was tiny, but that’s being very picky!!

Lovely and friendly lady. Nice location. Good breakfast. It’s a bit of a labyrinth, but the rooms are well kept.

Emma was so lovely and helpful - nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious! Comfy bed, en-suite, tea and coffee facilities. Emma also very kindly let me use the microwave to heat up some food! Perfect for an overnight stay. Thank you! Only thing I would say is the room maybe needs some blackout blinds in the summer as of course the sun rises early and the room gets quite light.
