Best Western Harbour Inn & Suites Huntington - Sunset Beach

The room smelt like a casino for being a non smoking hotel it was terrible. The bed had hair in it already like it was never cleaned before us coming. The moment my finance and I walked In the room we both got super itchy and got bit by something definitely don’t recommend this place. I’m not one to leave a review but I feel like I have to.

We are Best Western rewards members.. It was close to Mother's Tavern, which is why we were in town.. It was affordable.. That's it. It turned out to be a very nice place, and with our suite and our harbor view, it was quite pleasant. And my wife said she would stay there again, which is high praise.

We had three rooms booked for a week and it worked out great for our family. One room had the balcony overlooking the harbour-perfect for gathering for cocktails. The cleaning and breakfast staff were friendly and helpful, the day person at the front desk was not very accommodating to our special needs. The PCH is a bit loud if you're on the corners or street side. Surprised that we could smell smoke wafting up from the front sidewalk. There are some funky parts of the hotel, but all in all it was a good experience. Convenient location, clean breakfast room, our rooms were clean.

Check in was easy and staff was kind. Place has fresh paint but most everything else was quite old. Suppose that since it’s CA beach area it’s quite expensive to replace. If you have to stay in area you could do it. Bed and room were clean. Breakfast was normal institutional fare but well presented. Parking was convenient under hotel. I don’t want to say don’t stay there because they appear to be trying but it’s a bit sketchy.

I won't go this place again.

The only thing I liked about the hotel stay were the friendly staff and location of the hotel. The room had an old mildew smell. The carpet was dirty. The bed was as hard as a brick. Very uncomfortable. Very thin comforter. Air conditioner is old and doesn’t work properly. Parking is congested and inconvenient. The pull out bed has had its best days and need to go in the trash. My husband sat on it and sunk down a few inches.

Everyone was a tentative. We felt really good about staying there.

The breakfast was very good (for hotels in the USA), and there was a lot of variety. For those wanting to go to the beach: It is very close—you just have to cross Highway 1 (there is a pedestrian crossing approximately 150 meters away). The hotel furnishings and the bathroom are not the newest, but are nonetheless acceptable and functional.
