Easy walking to the heart of Sydney

The hotel's location and the comfortable room & café. The price. Staying Friday & Sat night so close to the city, but I didn't go out on either night.

Great location and friendly staff. Cafe at the entrance was great. 2 beds in one room was great and kitchenette was perfect. The bathroom was humid so there was a little bit of mould

The location is reasonably close to the CBD and at the edge of the Hyde park. it was ok but I expected more from a 4-star hotel. if I was alone, I would have stayed there longer but since I was with family and wanted a bit more comfort, after 4 nights, I moved to another hotel nearby.

This was my second stay at Hotel Stellar, having been let down by Oaks, up the road. It was a smaller room than I had previously, but it was still spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The kitchen area was equally nicely laid out, and the front desk was able to supply extra amenities, such as a chopping board and a sharp cutting knife. Whilst the large windows are at the side of the property, there was a slight side view of the park, which was nice, and I could also see the rather unusual sculpture outside the post office next door! I adore the full-height big curtains which exude a calming and cosy ambience when closed of an evening. The housekeeping staff were superb and friendly, as were the front desk staff, which I find goes a long way in making a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I think I can offer no better recommendation than to add that this was my second stay and I'll shortly be booking my third stay in this coming September!

Convenient to city and airport, with nearby train. Nothing really, this hotel suits me very well. Though the supplies in the kitchen are light on, and it's hard to bring my own sharp knife with cabin bag only!

Likely Nothing all good

I was planning a month-long stay in Sydney and looked at many hotels as I wanted a comfortable base and a place to relax after days sightseeing and bridge climbing. I messaged the hotel on Fri 26 June 2026 and asked: Do the studio queen rooms have space for an armchair? Best Western Plus Hotel Stellar's reply: "The apartment does have the space for an object the size of an armchair, however, the movement of furniture is restricted, by the hotel." I therefore decided only to stay at the hotel for one week. The room I had was on the 5th of 6 floors and was towards the rear of the building, with no view to speak of. There was indeed room for an armchair; however, the desk chair was wide and nice enough to rest for a little while. The room was nicely presented and was clean. I really liked the layout, although the wardrobe is in the kitchen part and the dining table is in the bedroom part of the room. A big bottle of water is in the room and priced at $4.50 as well as a few sachets of coffee and tea bags. The crockery is limited; I would have preferred a big salad/pasta bowl as well as a sharp, carving or slicing knife. A chopping board or worksurface cover would also be of benefit. The bathroom is nice; however, it isn't double-glazed and can get cold. With a heat light in the ceiling, it soon warmed up, and there was plenty of hot water. The hotel also uses eco-friendly bamboo toilet paper, which is good for the environment and strong whilst still being soft and kind to your bottom area! Housekeeping and reception staff are friendly and professional and help set the tone of the stay. They also stored my luggage for me when I arrived early in the morning before check-in and again after check-out for a few hours, enabling me to fully enjoy both days. The door had no internal double lock or bolt and no safety chain, so unable to lock the room from the inside
