The location was perfect, friendly and helpful staff, and beautiful rooms and hotel interior! The candy bar was such a fun touch, and the breakfast was delicious. The only issue we had (at no fault of the hotel) was fellow guests letting their small child swim naked in the hot tub. We left the pool when that happened.
-
I was disappointed that we were ‘upgraded’ to another room without any prior communication. I understand that they were renovating and that it was out of their control, but it would have been good to know beforehand.

Quiet, good location Stained carpet and furniture. Quirky room layout.
-
Location, great restaurants and pubs nearby, comfortable bed The bathroom. We have stayed in every room category except the rock stars and all the bathrooms are tiny, totally unmanageable, and some still have shower over bath, they really let this hotel down

The room is fantastic and the location on the proximity of the botanic gardens means the opera house is but a short walk away. If you like swimming then there is an outdoor 50m pool on the ocean a short walk away. Breakfast room. We opted to go to the Italian cafe over the road for more daylight and better coffee. The hotel's breakfast area is a bit dated and buffet style.

Thought the room was a bit tired looking. Had an odour.

Great spacious funky room overlooking harbour with city view, fabulous quiet location close to the city, easy to get around, staff very welcoming and helpful The grout between the tiles in the shower needs to be scrubbed.
-
the proximity, views, and lore make this the perfect space to stay in Syd some tiny conveniences were out of order like one of the lifts and one of the drains having an issue. but it’s an historic building so we were more concerned with being in that place as a whole

Furniture could have been updated

Excellent breakfast! Great options and plenty vegetarian ones too. Absolutely loved that you could get cafe-made beverages included for breakfast. The hotel bar was also quite nice during off-hours. We had dinner once there at enjoyed it. Overall, hotel staff were very helpful. We had an issue with our first room and they promptly moved us to another room and comped breakfast for the week. The hotel’s location is great—right next to Pott’s Point/Kings Cross with many food options. Easy to walk around/access the downtown area too. About 3-5 min walk to the nearest bus stop and 10-15 min walk to the metro. The hotel itself is in a cool old wharf building. We had a water view from our suit which was nice. The rooms are comfortable and decorated in a modern way, but the furniture and carpet need to be changed/upgraded. There are visible stains that don’t come out of the couches and carpet. These pieces should really be for high traffic use and have fabrics and be in colors that don’t look so dirty so easily. Recommend a refresh here for sure!

The location is very good - it is away from the touristy areas. The interior is industrial and eclectic and the rooms are comfortable. Our room had a great view of the harbor. Close to wonderful walking trails. Elevator is very slow.
-
Great location, just next to the Botanical Gardens and short walk to Circular Quai and main Museums Outside was untidy, and did not represent the cleanliness of the hotel. A bit noisy one night as there was a wedding happening downstairs, luckily it finished before 10PM.

The art installations all over.
-
The property was very unique and nicely located for walking around the Sydney Harbor area. Staff was generally very responsive and helpful. Room was very comfortable. Bathroom sink area was a little small as there was no place to put your own toiletries or place your clothes while showering.
-
Wonderful location for our concert at Domain. Would stay again!
-
Good location Function downstairs one night until 3am and with no notice. Tried to book dinner at local restaurant one night and reception said nothing available. Went to restaurant and good table with ring 30 min. Room a bit smelly

We love the location and the industrial-chic vibe of the hotel - this is our second time at the Ovolo. Its a short walk through the Botanical Gardens to the Sydney Opera House and the Harbor Bridge, there are great restaurants on the wharf so you don’t have to go far to eat, and there’s a great coffee shop (L’Espresso) just down the street. The room was showing signs of wear and tear, specifically multiple stains on the carpet which I felt could have been cleaned off.

I have wanted to stay at Ovolo for such a long time, and when I finally did - it did not disappoint! I couldn’t fault Ovolo
