We have been staying at this hotel for many years and it never disappoints. We choose to breakfast elsewhere only due to dietary requirements. We always dine in the restaurant at the hotel and find it excellent value. Nothing

The staff were very helpful and friendly. They helped me to charge my phone as I forgot my charger. I have stayed over 20 times at The Great Southo and it's the first time I have not been happy with the bed. It was too hard and uncomfortable.

Great location - train stops just outside - walking distance of lots of sights. Easy access to both harbours. Room a bit small but we were out all day. Laundry room used - all good.

We loved the location of the Great Southern Hotel Sydney. It was so convenient, with Chinatown just a short walk away and the tram right nearby, making it really easy to get into the city with only a couple of stops. It was a great base for exploring Sydney, and we had such a fun and enjoyable stay. The property is starting to feel a little older and could use some updating. However, we felt the price was very reasonable and reflected the age of the hotel, so overall it was still good value for money.

I stay at the great southern EVERY time I travel to Sydney, staff are always so lovely & very welcoming, rooms are always clean what more could you want.

Location was great, staff were fine. The place advertises itself as 4 star when I don't see it being over a 3 star at all. 2.5 stars is an accurate rating I'd give it. There was very little room in the bathroom especially for putting things. Lighting was poor and the bed had only 2 pillows which were very ordinary. Toilet flushed water out of the bowl which is a health hazard. The toiletries provided were on par with something you'd expect at a backpacker's joint - very minimal. In what world is this place 4 star? Very delusional.
