My stay at the Academy Hotel was very pleasant. Especially the staff stood out to me, as they were very accommodating and made many things possible. I was able to pay over online banking instead of on site, which seems to be customary in Tainan. They also made it possible for me to change rooms for later booked visit, so I was able to stay in the same room when I had booked two slots back to back. I had booked a room for one person, but adding a second person in person was very easy and cost less than 1000NTD per night. The rooms are huge, so are the bathrooms; The TVs vary in quality for some reason. The breakfast buffet was nice and had a large amount of options; the flavor profiles were mostly Taiwanese, which I enjoyed, but might be something to look out for. The location is really amazing, right next to Yule Street which has some great street food offerings. There‘s a 7/11 less than a minute away that stayed open even during a Taifun, which was very convenient. I think the hotel is one of the best options if you need to be close to NCKU campus during your stay. I stayed in a few different rooms over multiple weeks. One of them had a bathroom lock that was extremely hard to open — as I almost got stuck I refrained from using it for the rest of my stay. I noticed the same problem in other rooms as well. Even if something were to happen, there’s a phone in the bathroom with which you could inform the lobby of any incidents. The windows are difficult to close once they are opened, but I doubt that this issue will affect most people, as it’s rare to want an open window in the Tainan heat. The AC works perfectly but is very counterintuitive to handle. During the stay in my last room, I was unable to change the temperature at all. I didn’t contact the staff about these issues, as I could easily live with them. If I had, I’m sure they would have been able to find a solution, so take these issues with a grain of salt! They might be user error as well. One side of the Hotel has a very nice view over the city, the other looks to what I think are student apartments. It’s close enough that you’re often able to look into someone’s room, which can feel a little awkward. The windows are very big and the light is nice, though.

Everything is standard and it is a very good environment for people who travel with family or work every thing is fine

I traveled to Tainan for a business trip and stayed in this hotel. I can say that everything in this hotel is standard and desirable. The space inside the room is not only relaxing, but the facilities are such that you can use it as a good office.The size of the room is big enough and also the window facing the street has a very beautiful view.The breakfast covers all tastes and I found the restaurant staff to be very nice. nothing
