The hotel lacked a pleasant scent, and the quality of the shampoo, conditioner, and soap could have been better.

The building dates to the 1960s; probably for that reason it was not as well designed as more contemporary hotels to block out traffic noise. The staff, decor, restaurant and service were otherwise excellent.

I was so excited to stay at a nice hotel. I even paid extra for a "corner" room. What a disappointment! To start, everything was kind of dirty. The roof top restaurant had bits of trash everywhere and lots of smokers on the terrace. The one bartender was friendly but had too many customers to keep up with. The bedroom was fine, what I would expect from a days inn. The mirrors were all cracked and chipped. The corner room has windows I feel would fit more in a prison than a nice hotel. The shower floor was covered in soap scum or something so I put the bathmat over it to take a shower. The bathroom door also didn't quite fit and left a gap. All of the furnishings were scratched up. Worst of all, the bed was terrible, it had a deep divet in the center which made it incredibly uncomfortable, I ended up sleeping sideways because it was a little more comfortable that way even with my feet hanging over the edge. Oh and it's also like $20 to park.

I was checking in I disappointed to find the elevators needed touchup painting, and the light fixture on the third floor was missing, a shade which blinded me as I got off to go to my room. Upon entering, I turned on the bathroom light to find it was flickering. The paint in the shower stall was chipped and looked like it had been touched up once, but done very poorly. The lighting throughout the room was in adequate. I decided to try the rooftop lounge and noticed the leather on the stools was cracked and torn. I used to live in Tallahassee when the hotel was originally built and it was beautiful. I stayed there thinking it would be the same. It was not. I checked out a day early even though I had prepaid for my room. I will not be returning.

I can’t say I had the greatest stay at Hotel Duval. I will however say that all individuals I encountered were courteous. There was mild all over the door of my room. The room was so humid at all times that the carpet was sticky. When I let the front desk know about the mold, they went to the room and wiped the mold from the door . Then proceeded to lie and say it was not mold. They did however upgrade the room when I told them about the mold. When checked in they let me know the incidental deposit was only $100. They failed to mention that in the middle of the night each night that $100 would be charged. After the first night of this happening I went to the front desk and the young lady had no clue why I was being charged nightly and that the person that checked me in did something wrong. It happened again the following night. The young lady advised the manager would follow up. The manager called and said it was standard practice. I have never paid that much in incidentals in a small town ever. I stayed 7/8-7/12. I can’t say I would be eager to stay here again or recommend anyone else stay.

Several questionable charges leaves me feeling taken advantage of, probely won't return or recommend the Duval Hotel

This place was beautiful & amazing!! The staff treat you sooo good,!! The amenities are top notch!! We had such a great time & the place was fancy,we felt like royals! Fresh baked free cookies,complimentary breakfast was out of this world!! Dinner was amazing!! All around GREAT EXPERIENCE!! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!! GREAT JOB TO EVERYONE WHOM WORKS THERE!!

This hotel had the best quality foods for breakfast and dinner which made our travels pleasant on top of the excellent service provided by the staff and valet services
