Vila Galé Albacora is a 4-star resort, set in a rehabilitated tuna fishing camp among Ria Formosa Natural Park. It is close to the Island of Tavira and a 15-minute drive from Faro Airport. The property offers free WiFi. All rooms and suites of this eco hotel are former houses, workshops and warehouses that have been comfortably furnished and renovated offering stunning views of the natural park. Breakfast was very simple and didn’t offer much variety. Also, my room didn’t have a window, which made the lighting inside feel quite poor.

Clean, great breakfast, nice bar, friendly, efficient staff. We have stayed there three times. Never any problems.

Special, isolated location near coast and lagoons, resort style with ample parking, interior courtyard, great pool, ground floor rooms with sense of indoor-outdoor living, large reception and facilities, great breakfast. Building layout results in very long (but well lit) corridors. Strange requirement (for men too) to buy head cap to use pool.

The location was excellent. Outside of the bustle of town. This is an eco resort that really does follow positive environmental policies. The grounds were stunning. Staff super friendly. The resident resort cat was very welcoming. So quick to travel to Tavira Island via their ferry!

Beautiful surroundings in harmony with nature featured subtle luxuries that blended tradition with clean and modern facilities. The hotel's own 10-minute ferry to the gorgeous Tavira beach was perfect. wouldn't change a thing, keep up the great work

The open layout of the hotel - with rooms in rows of 'cottages' on the estate, set in gardens filled with bougainvillea - is very attractive, giving it a fresh and peaceful resort ambience. The ferries directly to Ilha de Tavira and Terra Estreita beaches from just outside the hotel were very convenient. The spa facilities looked impressive, and we were sorry we didn't have time to try them. The breakfast experience was rather noisy and hectic, although this was during the high season. The bar / lounge space could do with an upgrade / revamp to make it more attractive and comfortable, and perhaps a separate 'adults only' area.

The property is very well maintained, specially the external areas. It is very close to the beach by boat and the personal is very nice. Access by car ia a bit tricky, there is a long way of very rudimentary roads… rooms are a bit outdated, and the restaurant needs some improvement… Menu for dinner was exactly the same on tboth days we ate there and the breakfast is very disorganized despite the fact you see the staff trying their best. Even trying to get an empty glass is a challenge!

The location is ideal. Away from the bustle of Tavira and perfect for beach lovers. Nice grounds and pleasant staff. Rooms are not modern but perfectly adequate. Staff pleasant. Could do with improving internet access is my only gripe. Lack of good wi-fi.

The area is beautiful. The flexibility of the staff was great and we managed to keep our room after extending our stay. In general a great spot close to everything. Only thing is the SPA. Though it is included in the stay (no extra payment needed) it felt more like an indoor pool with a few SPA like options. I feel I am being bit fussy. Its a small detail that might make the whole experience even better.

The facilities and decor was lovely. The location was wonderful and the staff very friendly and welcoming. Loved the boat to the island- it would be good to have an option to take this to the town too. Also the option to get a water taxi to and from the hotel. It was a little far away form the town. It would have been good to have more information on the amazing location and history as well as more detail on the location. An adult only bar would have been good.
