Our stay at Crissie’s Hotel was incredible! The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, and the hospitality truly stood out - especially that of the owner. Adel is one of the warmest hosts you’ll ever meet and has a remarkable ability to make your stay feel effortless and deeply relaxing. His passion for the hotel and his love for the national park are contagious! We stayed for two nights and would have absolutely extended our stay if we could. The room was very comfortable, spotless, and featured a balcony overlooking a beautiful garden. The hotel also has a fantastic restaurant with delicious food, definitely don’t miss it! The team went above and beyond to help us arrange a last-minute rafting tour, a spice plantations guided visit, secure tickets to cultural events in the village, and organize an excellent driver for our journey to Kochi. Overall, this hotel truly surpassed our expectations! We highly recommend staying here and hope to return one day! ? N/A

Chrissie's Hotel is an amazing property in the middle of kumly, nicely design, unique room experience and every room has its own balcony. This property is surrounded by lots of trees and has been build eco friendly as well. They have unique cafe which serves nice breakfast and you can have lunch/dinner as well. What stands out for me is the hospitality of Anshad, Adil and anthony, they made sure we enjoy the stay with them and leave theekdy with amazing experience. I recommend this property to stay with family, friends, etc.

Some latches didn't work very well in the room I stayed in. Not sure about other rooms.

The management and staff couldn’t have been kinder and the food was exceptional… fresh and delicious. During my stay I had a sambar deer grazing outside and a band of black langur monkeys as neighbours just off my verandah, and the morning bird song was magic. Highly recommended!
-
Absolutely amazing hosts and overall hippie/chill vibe of the place! Located literally at the border of the Periyar tiger reserve, submerged in nature with birds and monkeys right outside of the balcony. If you are looking for a cozy place close to nature, don't look anymore!

Chrissie's Hotel in Thekkady provided a very pleasant stay. Its location is a major advantage, being conveniently within walking distance of the Periyar Tiger Reserve entrance. We also enjoyed seeing some local wildlife nearby due to its proximity to nature. The hotel features a nice swimming pool, which was enjoyable for relaxing, and the on-site restaurant served great food. We found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful throughout our visit, which added positively to the experience. Considering the amenities and location, the hotel is very affordable and offers really good value for money. Overall, Chrissie's Hotel is probably the best choice for accommodation in Thekkady, offering a comfortable and well-located base for exploring the area. We had a very very positive experience and would recommend it to anyone.

Really lovely hotel and great base for Periyar. The food was excellent - very tasty Keralan food and also some amazing homemade peanut butter and dark chocolate spread with breakfast. The staff were really welcoming and helpful and helped us book an early morning boat trip and green walk at the Periyar Tiger reserve - as you need an Indian bank account to book in advance. No tigers spotted but a young elephant, monkeys and lots of birds.

- Wonderful, if we return to Kumily, we book it again - quiet place, very relaxing you can stay the whole day at your balcony of the rooftop with pool - staff is very friendly and comforts all your needs, if possible, assist you to book a tour in wild live park etc - tastful breakfast, western and Indian aswell

It’s worth going to Periyar just to stay at this place. We stayed in the family room and it was wonderful. We saw a bigger variety of birds whilst sitting in the pool than we did when on a bird watching walk in the National Park. It’s also the tallest building in the town so you get a wonderful view. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Whenever we arrived they were so excited to welcome us. Wifi in the rooms is pretty patchy so don’t plan to wfh here.

Amazing hotel in Kumily near the bus station and periyar national park. Adel and the staff are super kind and helpful. The view from the balcony and roof terrace is incredible: you get to see monkeys and malabar squirrels and all kinds of birds. The breakfast is also very good: Indian items, self-made bread and toast and jams and fresh fruit.

This place is simply amazing. Completely hidden from the road, the building is in the middle of a beautiful, lush garden, full of local animals that we could see from our balcony. You can tell how much care and dedication the owners put into it. The property also offers a pool on the roof and nice common areas for breakfast and lunch. We initially selected a more “luxurious” hotel in the area, before finding Chrissie’s and booking here for its great reviews. After a few weeks already in India, we were a bit scared of its “rustic” looks. We didn’t regret our choice for a second: the room was really clean and comfortable, furnished simply but with good taste and well kept. The balcony is beautiful, and we really felt inside a rainforest. The owners and the staff are extremely friendly and hospitable. One of us was sick and they offered plenty of homemade ginger-lemon tea, delivered directly to our room, which was very helpful. The hotel has a restaurant offering a mix of Indian and international cuisine, which was quite good. Breakfast is also really good, rich and variate, with both Indian and continental options, including homemade jams and bread. While being in the nature, the property is close both to shops, and to the Periyar tiger reserve which can be reached on foot. Parking is available in a small lot nearby. Overall, absolutely recommended! Breakfast time starts a bit late, considering that many activities in the Periyar tiger reserve start quite early. A reduced breakfast was however available for us at 7, so not really a big issue.

Fantastic Place. Don’t go anywhere else to see wildlife. Food was amazing. Had a cookery class at the accommodation and it was wonderful. The guys go above and beyond for you. Book Room 15. Wildlife Wonderland. Xx

A unique experience adjacent to the forest with sustainability at its core. Stay in a room overlooking a lovely garden that attracts lots of wildlife including Monkeys and palm squirrels that you enjoy from your balcony. Lovely food options in the on site cafe. The management and staff go out of their to assist and help you with your trip and requirements always with a smile. Nothing

The welcome. The great guys who run this place they are so friendly & can’t do enough for you. The accommodation is set amongst the trees with amazing balconies. The location in the town is perfect too. Rooms are colourful. The smell of the coffee plants also around is beautiful like jasmine (possibly just at a certain time of year). Altogether a fantastic place to stay. If you were unlucky enough to be next to noisy visitors, you would hear them a lot as the walls are quite thin.
