GLOU Higashi Shinjuku

I don't like basement rooms. But I arrived late so there was no choice but still it had everything and no smell. I miss the window.

It's what I wanted for a first time stay in Japan. As I need to be in the area due to a fan concert, this place is the cheapest that is found, and only require 10 minutes walking to the concert venue, which is satisfactory. The place is also walking distance to Shinjuku and Okubo, and just 15-20 minutes combined walking and subway transport time to Shibuya. Well positioned at just few minutes from the Higashi-Shinjuku station, the Oedo Line and Fukutoshin Line can bring you to all 4 directions from the station. For the room itself the bed is comfy, the facilities are all there. Room is cleaned daily and done well. Toilet and shower room is good enough for me. Complementary Japanese tea bags and drip coffee bags are good that my daily breakfast drinks are solved. Overall a good stay for me, can recommend for people who would like to stay in the areas of Shinjuku and Okubo. For my room, interestingly, to get to my bed I had to climb a ladder that may be risky and could cause injuries if not handled carefully. Can consider using safer alternatives to a ladder for lower risks. Maybe it's a fact that Japan's internet has been falling behind compared to where I'm from, hence I felt a little bit annoyed when using the stay's wifi for mobile gaming. Otherwise, the stay's wifi is good enough for normal browsing use.

Receptionist was sweet, helpful, and accommodating! Room was perfect for two adults and we were able to fit our carry ons under the bag while having our check in luggages out to save space. Place was clean and super comfortable. Just perfect in general for our 4 day stay!

Great location just near a subway station Staff were amazing and very helpful. The room was a bit small, and general amenities like water cooler, laundry etc were missing. But overall super satisfied stay and was generally very clean as well.

The staff were extremely helpful. The location was great. Very close two different subway stations. Walkable from Shinjuku. The room needed some renewal but it was as shown in the pictures. We had a window although our room was in the basement. Good value for the money The room needs some renewal

The Place is very well maintained and taken care of, everything was clean and the staff was always helpful. Location wise it is also great, you can reach easily the public transport, restaurants and nice skincare shops ?? Nothing to complain, it was all very good ?

Good location. Minutes from the train station and about 10-15 minutes walking distance from the other line. In the Korea town area of Tokyo and super close to convenience stores. Also good walking/transit proximity to Shinjuku. It was pretty convenient but I would suggest planning out your day as it was a little further north depending on where you’ll be spending time in Tokyo. They have two buildings. Very quiet, decent amount of space in the room. Bed and pillow was comfortable. Laundry available. They also cleaned the room daily. Wasn’t the most modern or stylish property but a good budget option. Other small thing but they didn’t have anywhere to hang towels. A bedside table would’ve also been nice

Great location couldn’t be any closer to the station staff were all very nice Bathrooms didn’t have a bidet, our room was in a basement so it was humid and lacked any kind of view

The staff were kind and helpful and the surrounding area was low buildings and low noise (for Tokyo). The room was not very nice, quite empty with old furniture. The pillows were low, and they had only one extra pillow when asking for more. It's overall okay, but it was pricey for the value.

The location was very convenient to 7/11, 2 popular subway lines (5-7 min walk), quiet neighborhood, staff and very nice and friendly. They offer daily room cleaning. There is a kettle and mini fridge in room too which was helpful. Coin laundry in basement. If you book the loft, the people upstairs are very loud (stomping,moving etc) since it’s close to the ceiling. The ladder to get to the bed is very steep and wobbly so be careful not to fall. The loft room option the toilet has NO bidet which we were looking forward to. There isn’t anywhere to hang your towels in the bathroom so we just put it on the shower pole.

The Location was superb and you have a lot of food options in the vicinity. There are conbini located in the close proximity as well. The Area where Hotel is located is a residential area which makes it really quite (you dont hear the noises of traffic)

Is weird that the housekeeping staff stuffed the pyjamas under the pillow after housekeeping.

Bathroom was very small, and the loft bed was a squeeze don't recommend if over 6ft
