Hotel MyStays Ueno Iriyaguchi

Not far from Ueno station. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is a bit old. The fridge looked not too clean inside. No coffee available.

The room was clean and comfortable enough for our family of 4 with 3 beds available. The place was close to most train stations, max was 12 min walk so not too bad. Cleanliness was okay, i can see that there are still dust from bathroom counters. I like that the amenities are always available downstairs, especially face wash, toner and facial cream. Our family went out while the staff started cleaning. I forgot something and went back upstairs to grab and notice one of the staff used the same towel she wiped down the table to clean the cup, that wasn’t a nice sight to see.

Room was spacious. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was at another hotel building, needed to walk in the rain to eat breakfast.

Room size is.good. Having stayed at MyStays in Kyoto the contrast was stark. Building itself is rundown and old. Has a prison feel to it when in the hallway outside your room. Facilities need an uplift as do rooms which look dated. Carpet is stained and old too. Security is low, no need to swipe to go up to room. Price wasn't representative of the standard of hotel having paid similar prices for much nicer hotels in Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka)

The location of the hotel was great, very close to the subway and 10 mins away from the major Ueno station which was convenient. The unit was very outdated, the entire room smelled strongly of smoke especially the hallway. The smokey smell spread to our clothes as well. We were not informed that this unit allowed smoking. The bathroom had a dim yellow bulb so you couldn't even see anything. Not to mention there were no hooks in the bathroom so you did not have any space to hang your towels or clothes. Compared to another hotel we stayed at earlier in Ueno, this hotel was not worth the price.

Likely due to the timing of our visit but was a expensive stay for a standard hotel room.

There’s a whistling sound we hear from the inside of the walls that might be water pipes when someone uses shower or the faucet in another room. It’s a bit bothersome especially when you want to sleep at night. Also, the air conditioning in one of the rooms did not work so a part of our group transferred to another room which is a little inconvenient given that we are all tired on our first day of arrival.

I thought the staff were very friendly and helpful what I disliked was that there was a generator very close to my room which made the room excessively hot. I though the standard of the room was average in comparison to the price I had paid

The room was clean. The room looks old. The room was narrow. The hotel is a little bit far from Ueno station.

Reasonable price for a room , near ueno station and good service from staffs

Grate location - very close to Ueno station 5-10 min walking, excellent breakfast, polite staff. Just as additional information for travelers, if you leave very early in the morning (before breakfast time) hotel doesn't offer any alternative that you can take away but there is 7eleven nearby and there is a variaty of food, fruits, coffee etc so for us this alternative was very convenient. If you chose HOTEL MYSTAYS Ueno Iriyaguchi also keep in mind that the restaurant is at the next building 2 min walking but very good one.

The hotel is suitable if you arrive late at night, as it offers 24-hour front desk check-in. The room is decent, the air conditioner works well, and the bathroom is fully equipped with body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and a hair dryer. The hotel is quite far from Ueno Station, and the triple room felt a bit cramped.

Overall is good. Just wonder a bit of why we have to manage the trash by ourselves.
