Just a 15 minute walk from Ueno station and all the major attractions of Asakusa. The public bath on the roof is a very nice detail. It’s clean and provides all the amenities one could need.

I really liked the location for KIN Hotel. It was in a place which was close to stations and attractions. The price of the room was a deal. The staff were kind and helpful. Had a small room, but this was to be expected. I liked the room itself, but I could only just fit myself and two bags inside. Once a few items were in the room, I had trouble moving around the space and organizing luggage.

It was quiet and spacious in the rooms. Great location

the staff is great, location is peaceful and the onsen was great. also a supermarket 20 seconds away is great be prepared for a very tiny room. it is clean and the bed is great but if a couple stays here you'll be shuffling eachother and your luggage

Kinda of bit of walk from the station. Rooftop onsen was good but a bit too open (?).

  • Engine customer May 2026

I did like that the property was super clean and the towels were changed daily. The onsen was also great. The location is a bit far from the train stop. It is between two train stops. Not the worst deal but something to keep in mind. About a 10 min walk to the stop

It's a bit of a walk from Ueno Station but other than that no complaints.

  • Engine customer Apr 2026

Easy process to store your luggage for a few hours after checking out of the hotel which was ideal as we had a late flight. Very clean and quiet never once heard other guests. Almost a straight walk down street 10-15mins to Ueno station. Family mart around the corner. The area is quiet but easily walkable to the busier areas like ameyoko.

It’s a nice location in a quiet neighborhood and easy access to Asakusa and Kappabashi. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only complaint would be that there was a moldy smell in the room. I opened the window which helped.

Rooms way too small. Much worse than a monthly rental. Staff was uncooperative in trying to get a refund for early departure. Booking.com said it was okay with them if Kin Hotel staff would cooperate, but they refused to.

Perfect location, comfortable rooms and nice staff. Was a bit concerned about some reviews but wow, I would definitely go back to this hotel. Everything was good

Great location and very kind staff Th rooms are small but have everything you’d need

  • Engine customer Jan 2026

Very clean room + facilities, super comfy bed, lots of amenities, and relaxing rooftop hot bath. Kind and attentive staff. Close to Ueno park and major train stations for short and long train journeys. The Narita express stops at Ueno station, making it an easy transfer from the airport. The room was small, as is generally the case in Tokyo, but comfortable for me as a solo traveler with only a large backpack. Would have felt crammed if we were two. Regardless of what the thermostat said, my room was always too cold, it seems as if they had turned on the AC in the middle of the winter which made no sense.

The staff provided excellent service. We were traveling during the year-end holiday season, and on the night of our stay (January 1), one of our family members had an emergency and needed to go to the hospital. The staff kindly helped us contact the hospital to ask about foreigner acceptance and procedures. They also assisted us in checking whether the local trains were operating overnight due to the holiday. Their support during this stressful situation was truly appreciated. After check-out, we left all of our luggage at the front desk until late afternoon for pickup. We had quite a lot of luggage, but the staff took great care of everything for us. Their helpfulness and professionalism made our stay much more comfortable. We traveled as a family of six, including four children, and booked two rooms for our stay. However, the hotel assigned our rooms on different floors. During this trip, all other hotels we stayed at placed our two rooms on the same floor and next to each other, and we had also booked these two rooms at KIN Hotel in a single reservation. Being separated made it inconvenient, especially with young children and a lot of luggage. We had to make multiple trips between floors to settle the children and organize our belongings. The hallways are narrow, and there is only one elevator serving nine floors, which added to the difficulty. If the rooms had been on the same floor, it would have made our stay much more convenient. Additionally, using the open-air bath was somewhat troublesome. We had to hand in our room key cards at the front desk in exchange for access cards to the rooftop bath, which felt inconvenient and time-consuming.

Pros: • Very pleasant front desk staff! Easy check-in and check-out. • Loved the complimentary robes. • Comfortable beds & pillows. • Good working air con. • There is room under the beds to store luggage, which was major considering the available floor space. • The onsen on the roof was delightful. Wish we could’ve used it more than once. • The location was fun! I took morning walks enjoying the little neighborhood waking up for their day and the little shrines and temples in the area. Oh and the view of Skytree from the street was a delight every evening coming back! Cons: • The rooms are incredibly small. Now I know what you’re thinking—all western tourists say that about Tokyo. But trust, I’m understanding of small hotel rooms in Japan, but this was a new level. We just embraced the unique shuffle of Tetris we had to do. If you go in knowing this, it’s all good. • The walk to major stations is a bit painful for sore feet. We knew this ahead of time. • The onsen on the roof had men’s & women’s times. I wish these times alternated because we didn’t get to use it as often due to being out past 9pm. • The room did not come with pajamas and a few other amenities that I’ve received at other hotels at this price point. • The front desk was unable to assist me with luggage forwarding. They did attempt to offer me solutions, however I don’t think they really knew what to tell me. I ended up using the Family Mart down the street, which went very smooth. They should offer that suggestion if they don’t start offering it themselves.

Locations was convenient but also in a quiet area. Like most Tokyo hotels, there was barely any room to have a carry-on open.

    No

The room was small but comfortable. The rooftop onsen was a nice surprise, and relaxing to use. Quiet location. Walking distance to many interesting places. Other than the onsen, not many amenities.
