Dated, Japanese business hotel, walking distance to Ueno station, away from tourists. Simple accommodations but clean, courteous staff. Good value. As expected, simple.

I chose this location because I could get a very good price and I also wanted to try sleeping in a futon and it was more comfortable than the rest of the hotels I stayed at that had a bed. Great location if you want to visit Asakusa, Akihabara, Ueno area and the Tokyo Sky Tree Maybe try to add more than 1 laundry machine

The accommodation is clean, and the bed is very comfortable. The location is also quite good, with restaurants and minimarts nearby. The bathroom is quite small. Also, if you have large luggage, you’ll find it quite difficult to carry it from the ground floor up to the front desk on the second floor.

It is extremely good value for money, a fairly spacious room (with a tiny bathroom, but for that price you cannot have it all), common space for eating breakfast if you want to, in a quiet backstreet but close to Iriya subway station and within walking distance of the Senso-ji temple and even Ueno Park, which is only at about 2 km. We stayed here way back in 2019 and booked well in advance to also be able to stay here this time round. If there is any negative point, it is that there are no curtains or other means to darken the room at night, which can be a problem if you are sensitive to light during your sleep.

Amazing experience and stay!

Big kudos to the staff who really went out of their way to accommodate me arriving on a late flight from Hokkaido! I did not realize that check-in is only available before 11pm, but with taking the train from Haneda, I would have arrived around just after 12am. I messaged the staff while I was boarding my plane in Sapporo and they were able to stay up and awake for me to check in way past their deadline. While we initially booked this hotel for its budget price, the quality of the service and the hard features of the hotel are really great value. Yes, there's two shower/wash areas for the whole hotel — but you really can have full private access to a traditional Japanese wash area which was amazing. Overall, 10/10 really amazing value. The location is about 10-12 minutes walk from the nearest train station. That was a bit annoying at the end of a long day or carrying bags from the station for initial check-in. But, it is situated in a very quiet and local feeling neighbourhood. This could be a pro if that's something you prioritize.

Room was perfectly clean and the staff was friendly. The location is great. Asakusa attractions are reachable on foot, a few metro stations nearby. We also appreciated the proximity of combinis and supermarkets and the availability of lounge with tea/coffee/microwave and snacks.

I liked the location of the accommodation. It is about a 9-minute walk from Iriya Station and walkable from Asakusa, Kappabashi, and Uguisudani. There are tons of restaurants, cafés, bakeries, supermarkets, and convenience stores nearby. There is also a gym about 10 minutes from the accommodation. The area itself is not touristy so it is quite peaceful. The building itself is old but they have refurbished it to give off a retro, hipster ambience. The elevator is small and evocative of the Showa Era. My room was very clean and refurbished to combine both minimalistic and retro, nostalgic, and vintage elements. It is a very beautiful and cozy room. My reservation includes my own bathroom and given the retro feel of the accommodation, it was very small but homey and comfortable as if you are living in the 1960s. The room has a nice wooden table, perfect for working or studying. It is also spacious and roomy. They also provide a yukata so you don’t need to worry about changing into pajamas or sleepwear. The staff is friendly and accommodating. My hotel room was cleaned every day. They have tables and chairs so you can eat, work, or have beverages. They also have snacks and beverages like coffee and hot cocoa at the lobby. After checking out, I was also able to leave my luggage while I explore the neighborhood. I really enjoyed my stay. Since the front desk was at the 2nd floor, it would be nice if there was an elevator because I had trouble carrying my heavy luggage up and down the stairs. The toilet could also have a bidet installed. It would also be nice if there was a sign we could put to indicate that it would not be necessary to clean the room.

Great location and an easy can ride from Ueno station. Once there, easy to use subway to move around the city and easy walk to temples and Ueno markets.

I spent there my first three nights after arriving in Japan. Didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was nice and speaking good english. Though I arrived quite late in the night, there were no issues. Spacious room for Tokyo standards. Metro station is a bit far away. The only thing my room was missing was a water kettle.

Nothing!

They could use bigger slippers for men as guests must remove their shoes at the entrance. Bathroom could use an update (cold toilet seats).

It was all great! I had an issue with payment and they sorted it all very quickly. The bed was dreamy, and the room very comfy. I really enjoyed my stay. Thank you recommended! Nothing really.
