Miyako City Tokyo Takanawa

Hotel was well located near Shinagawa Station - although if you have not been there before it can be a little intimidating to figure out which way to go. The hotel was very comfortable - lovely staff, very comfortable bed and the room was bigger than I had expected.

The location is great. The staff were very nice. The room and the shower room were narrow and small.

A good hotel in front of the newly opened Takanawa Gateway, which makes it very convenient to visit Tokyo from. At the moment the price is still very competitive, but who know for how long ? The only distributors, ice and drinks, are in the basement, and it can be a bit inconvenient at times.

LOCATION! Short walk to Takanawa Gateway station which is a small station and easier to navigate, but convenient that is on the Yamanote line. My room had a view of Rainbow bridge. Staff was nice and the property, room were kept sparkling clean Small room, but had a good size bathroom with a separate shower and bath, plenty of amenities.

My daughter left her retainer at breakfast and the staff found it and saved it for us until we realized and contacted them to have it sent to our next place. They held it for ten days for us and forwarded it at no extra expense. Amazing communication and care to help us so much in recovering it. The breakfast, being our first in Japan was also utterly amazing. I haven’t had a breakfast as good as it since in five spots in Japan.

Staff is very polite, despite English level not being great for most (standard across other hotels) Small rooms, I guess it's linked to the proce.but definitely smaller than expected and vs what we found in other hotel (also in Tokyo) Breakfast was standard, not bad not good, just standard

nice 5-10pm lounge offering complimentary coffee and snacks. nice bathroom inside tue room compensating for the lack of a public bath experience mattress is a bit too soft

We stayed here due to its proximity with Shinagawa station as we were taking the Shinkansen to Kyoto next morning. It is easily walkable from the station which is also good if you arrive via Narita Express. We had a rail pass which then meant was able to hop onto the JR line to Shibuya (about 6 or so stops away) for a night out. Staff spoke good English and rooms were modern and clean - of course a bit on small side and a bit pricey - this is Tokyo, but relatively good value to other places. Would stay again.

This area appears to be newly built up, with the JR station that opened in March 2026. This hotel was very close to this new station, which has many shopping and restaurant options.

The room is very small even though it's king's room. Not worth the money.

The staff was friendly and professional. The buffet breakfast in the morning was also.very good. The usual complaint of Western tourists about the size of the room is applicable in this case as well.

The bathroom is big with both the shower and bath tub.

Location is great, locating between Shinagawa station, Takanawa Gateway station, and Sengakuji station. The hotel room is spacious and the area is very quiet. The lobby is a bit small and it can be full during breakfast time, so you’ll have to wait for seating.

-Only 30-min train ride to/from Haneda Airport with Keikyu Airport Line + 10-min walk from Shinagawa and Sengakuji Stations -The hotel offers essential facilities like microwave, coin laundry, free self-service ice machine in the basement, and a weighing scale for luggage in the lobby -Nearest 2 supermarket stores (Mediya and Seijo Ishii or Supermarket) and a drugstore (Matsukiyo) are located in the shopping mall, just across the intersection -As much as I want to gatekeep the hotel, it deserves praises, 10 out of 10 -None
