This place was great! It seemed very new, or at least newly refurbished. Everything was very clean, the showers were a decent size, and there was a small kitchen with a fridge/freezer, hotplate, and sink. It's a quick five minute walk from Tottori station. The beds are capsule-style, but they have enough room to sit up in and spread out a bit. There's even a cute bucket by the door for you to empty sand from your shoes into so you don't track sand all over the hostel. When I booked, I asked for beds on the bottom section, and they accommodated the request easily. No staff on site, but I had no issues that would have needed staff. If you do end up needing staff, though, that could be an issue. Not accessible to those with limited mobility as it's located on the second and third floor of a building without an elevator.

Great location but a little confusing to find. I didn't have breakfast due to an early departure. Very friendly staff. I read something about 'lights out' after a time that seemed really early. I understood that guests were supposed to be quiet when it was late but I didn't understand what 'lights out' meant. I'm glad the lights didn't actually go out, that would be dangerous! the downstairs room had heat but closed very early. I was not told about using the heat in the upstairs area so I spent the first hour or two feeling very cold. Then someone else turned the heat on. I was told about using a code to open the front door after hours but actually it stayed open, I didn't need it. I would like to see them expand their craft beer menu from the general area. Also more information about the heat/aircon and kitchen facilities.

There’s no luggage storage. I meam they offer it but subject to availability of staff at the pub. On my checkin day, i checked their ig for opening times of the pub for luggage storage and there was no announcement. But when i arrived, they apparently announced early closure an hour before they closed at 11am. ? Next day, latw announcement again of closure.

I was deciding between this capsule hostel and the other one in Tottori, which looks much newer and better, to be honest. In the end, I chose Y Pub & Hostel because I was supposed to stay here 7 years ago, but I couldn't get there because of a typhoon and they kindly cancelled my booking for free. There was nobody in my room (which can sleep 10) when I stayed, which was a bit strange for August, but nice nonetheless. The bed was very comforfable and the staff were kind. I chose the bread option for breakfast, which was prepared on the spot for me and very nice. The shelf in my capsule was quite dusty. You have to pay for all amenities. I don't know if this is common in hostels, maybe yes, but I found it a bit much to pay for slippers, which were not disposable ones, just normal slippers, of which they had dozens of pairs. Why on earth should one have to pay for that? Also, no towel was provided for free. While the room I stayed in had an A/C, the cool air didn't really reach into the capsule (and I was sleeping in the capsule closest to the A/C). It was quite warm as a result.

It would be fine if the towel is already included. Other else are fine.

The staff was really kind and welcoming.

The staff were very friendly and breakfast was perfect. The only bad thing is that the room was upstairs with no elevator. I had two bags and was difficult to go upstairs.

The location was really great! It was close to all the shopping, food, and main Tottori station. Also, the facilities were very clean and neat.

It is very close to the Station, the beds are big and comfy and the staff is very friendly. On my check out day, I could store my luggage as long as I like and in the evening when I was waiting for my train, they even let me hangout there (even though technically I checked out).

Nice experience, the staff was kind, place was clean and well equipped. Gets a bit loud at times tho, 'cause the walls are thin, but free earplugs are provided, so that's good. Great for those who are travelling alone and want to meet some new people. I'll definitely visit again, thank you?

How close it was to the station and bus area. They had a washer, kitchen, and rooftop area. They had two bathroom on the second floor. Girls dorm had a lock on it. They had locker which were free you just have to ask for a key I found a used contact during my stay in my sleeping area.

The coffee downstairs is really tasty and the rooftop chilling space is a big plus!
