It was expensive for one night and booked well in advance. When we got there, there were no staff on hand for early check-in or ever during the stay and at check-out. Everything was done via passcode. Fine. The location is right off the 2 lane highway 72. Two sets of ear plugs were left for us on the night stand because of the traffic noise. The room was clean, but spartan as far as decor and coziness. There was a stuffiness to the room as it was humid and the A/C rarely cycled, leaving the room feeling damp and musty. The lobby had things like toasters and microwaves, but zero food, no continental breakfast and nothing fresh to snack on for the price of the room was pretty disappointing.

Door entry pad did not work well. a desk would have been better than the tall table top. The coffee machine did not work on my floor

Also, our linens (sheets, comforter, pillows, etc.) all felt damp. We called the service line and reached a property management company who no longer manages Gold Coast Inn. Fortunately they were able to provide me with the the number for the correct property manager. The representative directed us to where we could find fresh sheets, but said she couldn't take care of the comforter that evening. She said housekeeping would be by the next morning with a fresh comforter. Housekeeping never came. It should also be noted that the property is not on the water as it appears in pictures. There is a very busy 4 lane road that separates it from the lake. All that said, the rooms were large and the place was decorated nicely. I just expected more for $300-500/night.

I could not even check in! I never received any codes for entry, and there was nobody there to help. I am still waiting on my refund. Beyond dissatisfied. Hire humans!!!

For being on a busy main road the room was very quiet. The young ladies worked hard to keep everything clean. I very much liked the facility. The only negative was the large volume of automated messages I received.

We were there for two days and being a beach town I would suggest supplying more bath towels. There were only two towels(which were great quality) but it would have been nice to have a fresh towel for each day for our stay.

The view was lovely and the outdoor deck/porch was very nice to sit and watch the sunset.

The floors creaked very loud. We put white noise on our phone but could still hear the floors from the people above. Our room faced the parking lot and there weren’t blinds on the window. It left little room for privacy and a lot for light to shine between the curtains. The hotel didn’t have an ice machine. The room felt like a senior living center.

The hotel was very clean and well maintained. The location was just outside of downtown Traverse and the view was pretty. Check in was a little confusing, but I'm not used to a code only system (no front desk). My main suggestion is that an instruction sheet on the 3 remote controls for the TV should be in the room. Luckily, I was able to reach someone on the phone, and they walked me through operating the TV. Also, the coffee station should be stocked with necessary items on the counter or at least have the cabinets/drawers labeled so items (cups/creamer/sugar) can be easily found. I did enjoy my and stay and would definitely stay here again.

This was my first experience with a front desk-free location. I was very pleased with how easy the process was. The room was spotless, well-appointed. I felt safe. Overall, a great stay.
