Grand Beach Resort Hotel

We loved the resort’s beach but were surprised at how busy the road was that the resort was located. This was our first time in Traverse City and again we’re surprised that it wasn’t a quaint little beach town that we thought it would be.

Nice resort. Good location. Stayed for only one night. Room was clean and in good condition. The staff were friendly. A common theme from the many reviews is that the free breakfast to go was nothing to write home about and I totally agree with that. You would think that for the good money you paid for a room the hotel management would either provide a much better free buffet or just eliminate it and have a restaurant that offers a paid breakfast. Other than that, it was not a deal breaker and I would return if I ever come back to Traverse City.

Location was fabulous, right on the beach and we enjoyed watching the sunsets each night. We felt like we were in Florida. Staff was accomadating, pool area was excellent. We liked that breakfast each morning was delivered to our room and we were not locked into a set time to get down to eat. Balcony could have used some cleaning, but we did not have a lakeside room and didn't spend much time out there..... everything else was great. Highly recommend this resort and definately would stay again!

Air conditioning was noisy. Room ceiling was stained from old water leak. Breakfast was delivered to rooms in boxes.

I didn’t like the breakfast boxes idea, the balcony fills with dead bugs and spiders.

The rating is completely misleading, the room smells bad, the quality of the place is simply not what we expected of a 4 star hotel. We don’t know why so many people rated this hotel highly. We are definitely not coming back next time we visit Traverse City.

Having a balcony with a table and chairs was very nice. Beds were super comfortable. Staff was great.

Really nice beach area. Lucky enough to have a room that walked right out to the beach. Breakfast boxes were delivered to our room in the morning. They were pretty good. Just quick stuff you could choose between cereal, muffin, donut, yogurt, or breakfast McMuffin. Each came with a banana and juice. Our room was nice. Had a microwave and fridge and in room coffee. I would stay there again.

We loved having direct beach access with plenty of available seating. The lobby was very nice and we appreciated having fresh coffee 24/7. The rooms were not as clean as I would have preferred, especially the bathroom floor and room surfaces. Parking was easy and always available and the room service breakfast was served timely and was decent. Overall this hotel is good, and has very nice staff. But for the price of a 3 night stay I expected more attention to cleanliness detail honestly. I did see staff vacuuming and mopping one evening, which was encouraging. It was more the high touch surfaces and the room that wasn’t as clean as I expected.

The room was clean, a little dated. They do a breakfast in a box. You pick from a menu the night before and they deliver it to your door. Nice view, easy and quick beach access.
