Super 8 by Wyndham Traverse City

The room smelled like stale cigarette smoke and alcohol. I would have requested a room change but we just had time to drop off our bags and go to a concert, by the time we returned, it was past midnight and the parking lot was filled with cars. I had a very sleepless night because of the smell.

Room was nice and it was great staying close to downtown Traverse City.

The room smelled very musty. I would not recommend this hotel.

while my car was parked over night right next to the building someone ran into it. of course no one saw anything and now I'll have to spend several thousand dollars to get it fixed. They should have security camera so offenders would be caught.

Clean

Clean with updated room. Had to check in across the street and skipped the breakfast options.

The outside was dingy. The room was nice and updated. The WiFi did not work. I asked for help multiple times but it did not extend to our room and our room was close to the office. They did not clean our room until 6:30pm. They ran out of breakfast food and the food was subpar. They said a manager would call me but I never received a call. We would never stay at this property again.

We were pleasantly surprised with the room. The outside looks a bit dated, but the room was nice. The recliner was a great addition!! The air conditioning unit was very loud. However, it did keep the outside noises out. A channel guide for the TV would be nice. ALSO - three times during the night the sound came on from the TV. Gotta say - it freaked me out a bit. We were hoping it was some type of timer and not a ghost. :-)

My small children and I arrived at the hotel around 10:00pm — kind of late, sure. The lobby was closed, so we had to walk across the street to the Howard Johnson to check in. So after we got our key and came back to find our room, we walked into it anticipating a cool room and a chance to unwind. Except, when we walked into the room, we were overwhelmed with a foul smell, something we chalked up the smell to be something rotting soaked in warm bleach. It was so bad, that we lit a candle and then immediately walked outside and took a few breaths of fresh air. Pretty sure the carpet had recently been saturated and not completely dried. It was awful. Aside from the pungent stench, the only other gripes would be that my kids’ feet were totally black in 20 minutes, and that there was a big spider web in the corner that had 20 dead flies in it. Otherwise, everything was pretty standard and acceptable.

A pleasant stay. Property was clean, the staff were kind. Nothing fancy, it was perfect for a brief stay in TC.

Early afternoon check in was permitted during stay. However staff might want to inspect units before assigning. A used soap bar complete with hair follicles was found in shower. Cleaning attendant more than likely was unaware that I wasn't due for check out until the next day. As a result, she entered my room while I was napping. Pro tip: Place Do Not Disturb sign outside room to avoid these situations. Breakfast was simple, and included pastries,tea, coffee, breakfast cereal, dry oatmeal.

The room was exceptionally clean and well taken care of. The location perfect.

The hotel received decent reviews so nothing prepared me for the horrific smell of our room. Unless the ac was running and moving the air, it smelled like a mix of garbage and mildew. Thankfully we were only there one night. Room 104 was NASTY.

Had to drive from one hotel to another just to check in. As well that’s where breakfast was.

We found this hotel very clean with helpful staff and a very clean pool and hot tub to boot. The tree was at night our balcony faced like you’re on and we had a view of Lake Michigan. The staff had lit up some small fire pits and given us marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers to make our own s’mores. It was super relaxing and we loved it
