Blue Sand Beach Resort

I wish I could think of something but there really wasn’t anything bright about this place. This list could go on forever. Bathroom needed 3 different service calls in the period if 4 hours just to get the toilet to flush. Don’t get me started on the shower which was more like droplets of rain. Rooms were dusty also, floors dusty. We had some guests over on the 2nd night during the evening and they insisted they could not stay for more than 30min. And proceeded to wait outside our room until they left. We informed management they would not be staying overnight but they still had an issue about this.

Fantastic beach location and excellent food! The highlight of our stay was definitely the beachfront location and the amazing restaurant. The staff were also wonderful and very courteous. Great for a quick beach getaway if you plan to spend most of your time outside! On the downside, the rooms were 3 star, facilities in the hotel were limited, and there was some construction and renovation ongoing.

The hotel is old and needs maintenance

The people are incredibly lovely. The staff are so hospitable. And what a location. You can’t get better access to the beach and the beachfront than this. Everything was truly lovely. I’d say maybe having thicker blankets would be helpful in the rooms, as the nights can occasionally get cold.

Its a good stay, you have the beach right there and a bar during the day for snacks and drinks. Rooms are OK, nothing special, but comfortable enough. Stuff was friendly, they just need a better system - who handles the invoices, who does sth else. Breakfast was rich, self service. Once they clean the area around the hotel, put some extra plants, some benches, it will have a much better look. They should put some more efford in the external area (create a richer garden, more plants)- and remove the trash, I am sure it will happen in time.

The location was excellent and the breakfast was soo good. Service was a little slow at breakfast.

The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Right by the beach and breakfast was wonderful.

The location was excellent. The housekeeper was lovely and couldn’t do anymore for us whereas reception was poor and unwelcoming with a scruffy whiteboard behind it. The room was described as DeLuxe when at best it was standard. Poor air conditioning very noisy and very cold couldn’t set it at a decent temperature. Facilities in the room as described did not exist. Breakfast was poor.

Location was great, right on the beach. Room was fine, except the sheets were very sandy and the room was not refreshed each day. The purchased food and drink was ideal, but the breakfast was poor, limited selection and not readily replenished, basic and cold. Breakfast

Great location to the beach restaurants and water-sports providers. Overpriced for facilities and service provided. No hot water from electric shower. Decor aged and in poor state of repair. Breakfast was a limited choice compared to other hotels in the area.

Exceptional in all ways! We adored this oasis on the beach. The sun chairs and carousals added an amazing touch of class and comfort to the incredible beach infront. The staff could not do any more for us.. always there to ensure we were having the best time. There were other hotels/restaurants along the beach front but we ate in our hotel every night. The grill was amazing and such fresh food. One of the older staff members( can’t remember his name) was exceptional and made us feel just at home. We didn’t want to leave!! Paradise!

It was a very nice stay. The staff of the hotel and restaurant made sure we felt at home. They were very helpful, kind and friendly. A huge thanks to the receptionists, the manager and all other guys for such warm welcome. The hotel and the restaurant are located right on the beach, just a few meters to walk. In the evening you could have dinner right on the beach. They had western breakfast and traditional Sri Lankan breakfast. It was good breakfast with local fruits and freshly squeezed juice. Special thanks to the Chief for vary tasty dishes for dinner.

Passable

What we liked most about the resort is the direct connection to the beach. The restaurant also serves food and drinks when laying at the beach. The rooms are clean and very well prepared. Nishanthan is an artist who folds the towels in a very special way - which we really liked. Also, the whole staff is very welcoming and super friendly! :) It seems that the resort as such is showing its age and could have some maintenance (paint, …). Also, the restaurant could be better. The breakfast is okay but nothing very special. We decided to mostly eat somewhere else - but those places are around the corner and should definitely not prevent from going there.

The hotel is located right on the beach and offers sunbeds, umbrellas and beach towels for the guests. The staff is really friendly and especially the housekeeping staff is super nice. The room was very clean and was also cleaned daily during our stay. The breakfast at the beach restaurant is very basic and was unfortunately one of the worst we had during our 3 weeks traveling Sri Lanka.
