Holiday Inn Express Union City (San Jose) by IHG

Unfortunately, I was surprised to find that the renovation is still ongoing and appears to be much more extensive. The reception area did not reflect the standard I expected from this hotel. The gym was closed, although they offered access to the gym at the neighboring hotel. My room was clean, but it still had a noticeable fresh paint smell. On the positive side, the housekeeping staff did an excellent job. Every day after returning from work, I found my room clean and well maintained. Breakfast was decent, but the internet service was unreliable and slow. Overall, it seems the renovation project is progressing very slowly. I hope the hotel completes the work soon, as it has the potential to be a great place to stay once everything is finished.

Property is under renovation. Elevators didn't work and they put us on the 4th floor. Room was next to the road and very loud. Could not get a good night rest.

The room was great but there wasn’t any notification until after booking how deep in construction the building was in. Rooms were great but elevators were not working, so make sure to ask for a bottom floor room or be prepared to walk up flights of stairs.

The hotel is under remodeling/reconstruction. However, everything has been great. Nice, CLEAN amenities, great staff, and a great location. Best hotel I have stayed at in years!

Exceptional

The breakfast quality was very poor with very limited choices. We stayed in a queen suite that included a refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher, but surprisingly there was no kitchenette. The room size was also very small. Overall, the quality of the hotel felt below a 3-star standard.

As always I had a very restful night with a wonderfully comfortable bed, clean room, very nice breakfast and hotel is located in a shopping mall with plenty of dining options and a theater.

The property is currently under construction. There is no gym or pool.

Room was extra clean and looked like we were the first ones to occupy. Breakfast was good for all the days we stayed. It’s only a walkable distance to some shops across the street. Overall it was an excellent stay.

Construction going on the property lots of dust I was sick all night dew to dust. My wife didn’t like the dirty place.

The location is very convenient. The renovation work was not a real problem. Like this hotel.

There was construction in progress around the hotel, but my room was like brand new. I loved it and breakfast was great

I should’ve known better about the location. Proximity to 880 and major local roads, thus very noisy. We were on the top 4th floor but could hear the constant traffic. Poor insulation or maybe because the room was facing the streets.
