Caro Hotel
About Caro Hotel
Caro Hotel is a former 19th-century palace located in the heart of Valencia, just 656 feet from the Cathedral. Architecturally unique, it masterfully blends historic heritage with contemporary design, creating a sophisticated and truly one-of-a-kind experience, preserving elements dating back more than 2,000 years. Designed by Francesc Rifé, each room is individually conceived, reflecting an elegant minimalist esthetic enriched with carefully curated details. Many rooms feature singular architectural elements such as medieval coffered ceilings or original Moorish arches, seamlessly integrated into the modern design. All rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, air conditioning, and a complimentary mini-bar. The bathrooms offer a refined experience with Lalique toiletries, bathrobes, and slippers. In 2024 and 2025, Caro Hotel was awarded a Michelin Key, a distinction granted by the MICHELIN Guide to recognize the world’s most exceptional hotels for their excellence, character, and quality of experience. This prestigious accolade — introduced for the first time to honor outstanding achievements in the hospitality industry — highlights the Valencian hotel sector’s deep-rooted commitment to delivering top-tier service and unforgettable stays.

Excellent location in the old city, we could walk to most restaurants Staff very helpful with restaurant recommendations and bookings It felt understaffed Noisy mornings: we were next to an elementary school playground There was no place to hang towels in the bathroom No face towels
-
Loved the location. Within walking distance to different restaurants and the market. Our room was spacious with a walk in shower and tub. Breakfast is exceptional with a wide variety of choices. Sonia spoiled us so much! To Pauline, Florian, Ali, and the rest of the team thank you so much for making our stay memorable.

The decor, the staff, the coffee, the location, the cleanliness.

Location was great. Noisy outside but very quiet in room. Staff very friendly and made excellent cappuccinos every morning. Incorporation of ancient walls made hotel one of a kind. Room was in tower. Had steep and poorly lit stairs up to bedroom, so not for anyone with mobility issues or sleepwalks. Very funky that there were no hooks or racks to hang towels

We arrived after a long plane and train ride. We were welcomed with open arms and a welcome drink, which was very nice. The room was comfortable with a nice firm bed. The drinks and snacks in the mini-fridge were complementary, which you don't see much. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel bar has a great wine selection and it was great to relax at the bar after a long day sightseeing. We had breakfast several times during the week (which you had to pay extra for) and everything tasted great! The hotel is located in a beautiful neighborhood with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. The bath tub was a bit slippery, but we put down a hand towel to help with that.

Nice historic location

Location is right in the middle of old city, all attractions are walking distance. NA

Fabulous location and wonderful staff Lighting too low in our room at night. Hard to see anything.

Nothing really. This is a small villa, with lots of history and even objects from Roman era on display. So this is not some grandeur hotel, rather, small nice, cosy with relaxing atmosphere, impecable service and great folks working inside. All the best, hope to come back.

Wonderful hotel with lots of history and friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was amazing too!

I strongly recommend this place and would stay there again if I return to Valencia. There are architectural treasures embedded in this historic site, and yet the rooms are modern with all the comforts one would want. It very tastefully integrates the older features with newer design, and the staff are incredibly helpful. It is also close to many areas of town we wanted to visit, but is a somewhat quiet corner of the neighborhood. We booked a room with an old brick arch remnant of a wall. It was amazing.

This is what travel relaxation and kindness and purity is about The kind and happy staff only enhances the beauty of the hotel … we absolutely loved our stay … it’s the tiny attention to details voided of the fakeness of the Ritz or the St Regis that makes this hotels so beautiful and special Nothing

The Caro is spectacular. Our room was built on a 2,000 year old wall (think Romans and Moors) and was large, clean and had a large, excellent bed. Location is fantastic. Quiet at the end of a block but a 5 minute walk to large town squares and so many eateries. Our son was in a cycling race in Barcelona, so when we arrived in Valencia the Caro provided him a secure parking spot in a locked garage for his bike when he built it to ride all over Valencia. Much appreciated! The service at the Caro is exceptional. All of the little details made this our favorite spot of all during our trip around Spain. Nothing.

Architecture very cool, and location amazing

Fantastic location, beautiful design, blending modern and sleek architecture with historic ruins, helpful staff Onsite restaurant was closed for renovation, extra cot that we requested was broken

I was upgraded and the room was fantastic. Breakfast was nice but maybe a bit overpriced. The hotel provided a comfortable and relaxing break for walking in the heat and served a a great base. Parking was very convenient. The staff was great with plenty of recommendations. Very attentive staff Price was a bit high but in the it was worth it for the location, comfort, and helpfulness of the staff
