I didn’t have a problem but some may not like that the rooms are right outside the lobby where guests may be noisy as they enter and leave the hotel.

Had a very pleasant stay here. The property has a lovely heritage feel, and the owner/manager was genuinely warm and accommodating, which made things easy from check-in to local guidance. The location is a big plus—just a 2–3 minute walk to the Ganga, and around 9–10 minutes to Kashi Vishwanath Temple, making early morning darshan very convenient. One thing to note: like much of Old Varanasi, it’s a bit of a walk from the main road (car-accessible) through narrow, winding lanes, and it’s easy to get turned around if you’re not familiar with the area. That said, the stay and location more than make up for it. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience the old-city charm close to the ghats.

I had a lovely time staying at the Omkara Palace. The staff were exceptionally helpful, friendly and serviceful. My room was great with a view of Ganges river. Best bed anywhere, very comfortable. Location was close to the places I wanted to go. Thank you!

The view. Run down. No maintenance. Dubious cleanliness. No restaurant. No heating.

Excellent customer service all around. The hotel was helpful in organizing tours, assisting us with finding a shop in the city that was not on Google Maps, calling a music venue to ask questions for us, and they carried our luggage to and from the taxi. They also responded promptly to issues with the room, and gave us plenty of water. Our room had a shared balcony overlooking the river, and was a 10 minute walk from the main street.
-
My room was comfortable, on the main floor and easily accessible. Also accessible was the balcony which was wonderful to be able to use and view the Ganga. The mini split air-conditioning unit was placed right over the bed. Cold air, needed in general was uncomfortable. The vent from the mini split was directed down at the bed. I was forced to turn it off in order to avoid it causing extreme heat in the room. I turned it on and off throughout my stay.

It rained heavily one afternoon and a good amount of water seeped into the room from the balcony doors. A couple guys came in with squeegees and took care of the problem. I'm guessing this is a recurring issue.

Excellent property, clean and well organized. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. Unfortunately, we got sick during our stay, but the staff immediately stepped in to help us: they bought medicine from the pharmacy and brought food and water to our room. Such care and attention are truly rare to find. Thank you so much!

Location perfect. Everything is tired and old.

The staff at this hotel were incredible. They could not have done more to ensure we were comfortable and felt looked after. They helped arrange transfers to and from the airport, a boat ride, a local guide, and a trip to Sarnath. They were so exceptionally kind and helpful. The balcony in our room and the view from it was wonderful. Great value for money. Some parts of the room could have benefited from a deep clean.

We stayed in the Kalesh Suite. The bed was very comfortable, it has a lovely shared terrace overlooking the Ganges. The manager and staff were very helpful Would definitely stay again

Amazing staff, great location, good WiFi, balcony overlooking the River Ganges. The room was spacious & comfortable. There was lots of hot water & the air conditioning worked well. Breakfast was basic but freshly prepared. The view from the balcony & the roof top restaurant was amazing. The staff couldn’t do enough for us & provided bottles of ice cold water as soon as we returned to the hotel after sightseeing. Bathroom could do with updating & it is a 15 minute walk down narrow streets but this was part of the adventure. The hotel arranged to pick us up from the airport & staff met us at the taxi & carried our luggage to the hotel.

We stayed during kumbh. For the price way paid, the room wasn’t really up to scratch. The shared balcony’s were not great as guests were very loud and eating food ( and left rubbish) etc there even into the late hours. The location is great though

Neat & clean Not accessible by road. One has to walk 1 KM

We liked the view from our room. Room 101. The breakfast on the rooftop cafe was fine and actually good coffee. The towels were large and clean. Plenty of water on offer and could ask for cold water no problems. Great location, plenty of little cafes in the surrounding alleys and right near the action on the water but also quiet other than the regular prayers right next door . It was a little difficult to find. the room was very small and we had to arch our backs to get past the tv if we wanted to go from one side of the room to the other. The two flights of steps to breakfast and the 50-60 steps from the river but that’s only as I have bad knees.

Dwivedi Hotel is the perfect location on the Varanassi ghats. Importantly, the transfer driver will drop you at a main road. It is up to you to walk to the hotel [15min]. This is all part of the cultural experience, so take your time and explore all that is Varanassi. The management and staff were excellent, warm, and friendly. My air conditioned riverview room had an enclosed balcony, which was perfect, as there are a family of monkeys living in a tree opposite, and although fun to watch, you don't want them in your room. The king bed was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom had ample hot water. The room boys provided extra towels and toiletries on request; they were lovely, always smiling, always happy to help. The rooftop, with direct views across the river, has beer and drinks on demand and an extensive snack menu prepared to order. Buffet breakfasts were ample and delicious, with excellent service. A la carte items could be ordered. In the evenings, the open plan rooftop is a perfect place to chill. The hotel is a 2-minute walk down to the river. Thank you Dwivedi. Maybe a few street signs to orientate the traveller. I walked to the river and then looked up to locate the hotel. However, the narrow laneways of Varanassi are tricky to navigate, so more signage would be much appreciated. Turn up the laneway from the yellow temple gates.
