However, there were a couple of issues that affected our stay. The bathroom and shower had visible hair in several areas upon arrival, which gave the impression that it had not been thoroughly cleaned before check-in. Additionally, on the second day of room service, our used wet towels were folded and placed back on the bed instead of being replaced or left to dry properly, which was disappointing. Despite these concerns, the overall stay was still enjoyable due to the room’s style and the hospitality. With a bit more attention to cleanliness and housekeeping details, this would be an excellent place to stay.

The host met us upon arrival and helped with getting my bag up the stairs. Water bottle was available in the room. This location is excellent, 1 minute walk to the Grand Canal dock Ca’ d’Oro and less than 10 minutes walk to Fte. Nova for boats to Burano and Murano. Breakfast is very good with many great choices. Hostess is very helpful and generous with the coffee and food. This is a nice room in Venice, things are old and difficult to update, so this hotel is typical of this situation.

Amazing staff, super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also very good. Walls of the rooms next to the dining room were thin so you might get waken up in the morning.

We arrived around 9:30pm and were oddly taken to another hotel close by (walking distance). Staff was kind and we had ou

I love the small hotel and their hosting, they helped me all the way, starting from taking the heavy luggage on the big long stairs, it was clean and the bed was very nice and comfortable. The shower was extraordinary. They even gave me a breakfast bag before my early morning flight The breakfast space was very small and the spread was not so great. There were many stairs to go to the reception.

Location, breakfast, and workers there. IT was very nice and exceeded our expectations. It's also quite affordable - except around the Biennale. If you can book outside that time, you will get a fantastic deal!

Breakfast was excellent. The location was walkable distance to the boat stop and other neighbouring boat stations were walkable. Hotel provided us the umbrellas when it rained. The family owning the hotel was very helpful. Not applicable

The room was clean and had easy access to the city. The concierge is also 24 hours—we had an early flight and were able to check out without worry if someone would be available. They also served a wonderful breakfast each morning. Lastly, the shower was fantastic! The AC would not cool very well. Luckily we visited dying nice weather. I’m not sure how comfortable the room would be in the summer.

Breakfast was amazing. The owner/ manager was amazing. Served breakfast herself and made us feel at home. Communicated well and informed us about how to get there. Super nice person. Gave good advises about the area. Great stay… location… walk 15 mins from the trainstop

Good size room, our unit has a little garden which is nice. Good location, like 1-2 minutes walk to the stop of the #1 waterbus line. Also decently close to the #12 line to Murano/Burano. Can walk to Piazza San Marco in around 15 minute.

Excellent location. Close to San Marco, where the main attractions but also not in a heaving area which was nice. Host was lovely and very responsive to any questions we had. Perfect base for a few nights in Venice.

Madam and her staff were very kind and hospitable. We had a slow draining shower that we discovered late at night (after we got back to the hotel), and she quickly called to have it fixed the next morning. It worked perfectly that following evening. Breakfast was charming and the cappuccinos were amazing. Highly recommend staying here, especially for the price.

Our stay at Alloggi Santa Sofia was easily one of the highlights of our three-week journey across Italy. This property is truly a gem, perfectly positioned in the Cannaregio district—offering the ideal balance of tranquility while being conveniently located halfway between St. Mark's Square and the Santa Lucia Train Station. The hospitality we received was exceptional. We had originally booked a single room, but the host graciously offered us an available Suite on the ground floor for only a minimal upgrade. This was a fantastic stroke of luck! The suite was spacious, comfortable, and featured a kitchenette with all working amenities. Getting a ground-floor room in Venice is a major plus for easy access with luggage. We absolutely loved the Cannaregio neighborhood for its authentic Venetian atmosphere, its easy walking distance to all major attractions (and the train station), and the peaceful setting away from the heaviest tourist crowds.

Loved it!!! On our northern Italian trip we stayed at 10 different Hotels (stays really) and this was actually a full fledged two room apartment with living room and kitchen. I was not expecting this. We lived like Venetians!!! We were in a very central location and it was wonderful. Close to everything. Bathroom was great. The breakfast was also exceptional. I didn't want to leave... The master bed was a little past its time. Not the most comfortable but the experience here mitigated any mild bed concern.
