Hotel Al Ponte Antico

The location was fantastic, with the most beautiful view of the Rialto Bridge. The accommodations were great but the best part was the staff. Alex, the head concierge, helped us set up transportation to and from the airport/train station. It all went seamlessly. He was waiting for us outside upon arrival and greeted us by name. He was always there greeting us and saying good bye as we came and went and ready to help with any details on our stay, which was much appreciated, as this was our first time in Italy. The breakfast was amazing and homemade by the owner’s wife. The owner and breakfast staff all met us and we felt very taken care of during our short stay. I can’t say enough about the service, and particularly Alex. He walked us out when our water taxi picked us up and even stood outside the hotel smiling and watching us sail away. We felt like we were family and our trip to Venice would not have been the same at all had we not stayed at this hotel!

Outstanding...the owner (Sr. Matteo) prepared all the pastries and bread each morning. Coffee drinks prepared by staff well versed in Barista service. The excellent staff was/is a direct reflection of the owners pride and dedication to giving patrons the best experience he/they can offer. I cannot stress enough how personalized our stay felt. The balcony/deck overlooks the canal & Rialto Bridge and is one of the few balconies on the canal to enjoy breakfast, coffee and drinks throughout the day. That we didn't have longer to stay. The experience was outstanding. Pro tip...we took a personal water taxi from the hotel to the airport and would have taken one there (Airport to Hotel) if we were to do it all over again. Personal water taxis more economical for 4-6 people than waterbus.

An exceptional boutique hotel located directly on the Grand Canal! The on sight owner (Mateo) and his staff are phenomenal. Accommodating every request... and offering spot-on recommendations for restaurants, sightseeing, travel arrangements, etc. A small terrace overlooking the Rialto Bridge and Grand Canal is a truly special place for the excellent breakfast included each morning. If possible, arrive via a water taxi directly from Marco Polo airport to the hotel's private dock on the Grand Canal. Mateo was on the dock to welcome us personally, and gave us a brief tour and history of his property. Personal touches like this continued throughout our stay... and made it special, almost like your part of the family. We booked the Junior Suite with a water level view directly on the Grand Canal. A very large double window can be opened and offers an incredible view of passing gondolas, the Rialto Bridge and the everyday boat traffic. I'd be surprised if there is another hotel room that offers such an intimate view of daily life on the Grand Canal... we literally spent hours here, relaxing and drinking it all in. The bathroom in the Jr. Suite is a quite small, but functional. For us it was a non-factor, as the very spacious suite and great views more than compensate.

The location could not be better- on grand canal and superb view from terrace. The staff was exceptional so friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend!

The hotel’s terrace is a dream spot to enjoy breakfast or a sunset drink, offering a front-row seat to Venice’s charm. Our room was impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and full of thoughtful details. The breakfast was one of the highlights—freshly prepared and served with a personal touch that made each morning special. If you’re looking for a truly Venetian experience with exceptional service, this is the place to stay. We’ll definitely return on our next visit! Highly recommended!

The bed needed to be replaced. Air conditioning unit was filthy

Best hotel in Venice. The staff are the friendliest most welcome people ever. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else. It was perfect in every way.

Great staff and fantastic breakfast

This place is beyond your wildest dreams. Obviously, the location is unbeatable, but the real gem of this place is the care of the team. I've stayed in some nice places, but I've never been better welcomed than by Gigi, Matteo and Mini. They really go the extra mile to make this place feel like a dream. Their kindness and attention to detail is the reason why I will keep coming back.

It was like in a movie, everything was perfect. The staff knows you by name (even when they change shifts), the owner takes care of you and even carries your suitcases. He also cooks the best scrambled eggs I've had for years. His wife is charming, caring and friendly. If possible, I would like to go there every year!
