We were pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary room upgrade to one with a private terrace overlooking one of Venice's canals. It was a lovely touch that made our stay even more memorable. The room was clean, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. The breakfast was quite simple, with mainly croissants and a very limited selection, but it was enough to start the day. Overall, we had a good experience and would recommend Hotel Lux to travelers looking for a well-located hotel with friendly service in the heart of Venice.

Location near the water bus was convenient. Close to piazza San Marco. Multiple flight of stairs, no elevator or help with bags. €10 per person breakfast was only croissants and coffee and you are limited to 30 minutes. The room had multiple stains on the carpet, walls, lampshades and water damage on the ceiling. AC in the room barely worked.

Off putting that the room was in a seperate building from the hotel.

Location Very old Blankets and pillows are for a long time ago Hotel doesn't provide you even a spoon! You'll have a hard time to find or have an electricity plug. Non-standard stairs!

the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable did not sleep, the AC barely worked.

Location is convenient. No elevator and not enough lightings.

Location is excellent. Right by Zaccaria station, literally next to the Bridge of Sighs, 5 minute walk to Piazza San Marco. Very large private bathroom. And it had air conditioning. Phenomenal as it was well over 30° when we were there. No lift (not uncommon in Venice). Breakfast is not great but you’re in an amazing spot for great bakeries and food. Only one outlet in the room. Bed is EXTREMELY firm, but the pillows are just heavy foam bricks. Extremely uncomfortable. Fortunately for us we put in 30k steps a day and had a few spritzes or we might not have slept.

Great location. Staff friendly and helpful. A bit small and dark with the shuttlers closed.

The furniture is extremely vintage. ;-)

Personnel was excellent. The gross alley way to reach the hotel. Dark at night, foul smell from a restaurant kitchen in the alley. Shutters on windows need attention.

Clean rooms, location right off San Marco, comfortable beds, big bathroom with good water pressure. 10/10 would stay again

Its location is great. The communication with staff was minimum thought they were very polite. The stairs to get to the room (3rd floor) are crazy and once you open the door there are more stairs. (They’re breathtaking and not in a good way) The room is way too small and not very clean, I found hairs in the bathroom walls, the room walls are dirty. I traveled around Italy for some days, it was the more expensive hotel and the less nice and clean.

No lift to carry luggage to rooms

Close to saint marks square! had a balcony! so many stairs in the hotel, but that is not their fault! We were just on the top floor lol.

Great location, large, clean and beautiful room. Not so rich breakfast. Noise outside the room (we were in the annex, about 150 meters from the hotel).

Very old hotel, motel I would say . Everything is broken inside light switches , lights are very dim. Staircase is slippery , everything is very disappointing . We could not believe that in central location there’s a facility like this. We were told the air conditioner was not available due to season change. It was much warmer than usual and so we decided to open windows for ventilation, well first negative was the street noise. People talking loudly then the vendors dragging their carts you could hear a conversation on third floor like they were outside your door and this went on well past midnight until early morning hours. Then, the morning crew at 6 am doing construction work were loud but I understand they’re working. Second, we got eaten alive by mosquitoes. And I mean A LOT. When I woke up itchy and bitten my wife saw them all over the walls I counted at least 20 that I could clearly see for myself. This was unacceptable no air conditioner but we get mosquito bites on our faces and body. Not to mention trying to kill them kept me up most of both nights. The bed mattress was so subpar I’d rather sleep on the floor that way I don’t develop back problems. And finally the guest services were subpar well at least the person working the desk was not helpful and rude. That is all. and one positive there was hot water in shower. Otherwise I would not stay here free of charge. And a favorable mention to slippery stairs that cause my wife to fall and sprain ankle severely enough to almost ruin our trip. After all everything is walking here. If you decide to stay here while visiting my advice is DO NOT. Entrances, slippery stairs and not being able to use air conditioner leading me and my wife to be mosquito bitten for hundreds of mosquitoes for two nights. I should post pictures of our faces and arms/legs. And really wish I did video of mosquitoes all over the walls. UNACCEPTABLE.

The location couldn't have been better! The rooms look better in pictures, but are not that bad.
