Clean, quiet, nice room & bathroom all updated, a/c, nice courtyard & in a great location (the heart of Venice)

Absolutely wonderful! The proprietors are incredibly nice and helpful, the breakfasts were absolutely outstanding and the garden was an unexpected bonus. Only the weather- hot and humid. :)

Hortus B&B is a gem with a beautiful secret garden away from the crowds and hustle and bustle of the tourist area. I felt like I was in the real Venice, The room was air conditioned and beautiful with some very helpful complementary items like slippers. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Hosts Janina and her husband are lovely and very helpful. Janina even walked us half way to the bus station as navigating which alleys lead to bridges can be tricky. She even carried my suitcase up to our room and over a number of bridges. Nothing

Excellent location. Very safe. Owners are there and extremely welcoming. The house is beautiful and the room was immaculate with so much storage- closet, shelves, hooks etc. Bathroom was large. Breakfast was perfect. Our room was on the ground floor with a view of the canal. My daughter and I absolutely loved our stay. We were also able to safely leave our bags after check out so we could still enjoy the day in Venice. We loved everything! Could not have been better!!!

It was quiet but easy to reach. The courtyard was beautiful. The spaces were well appointed and clean. We loved everything!

This B&B is hosted by a delightful, welcoming couple in their home away from the crowds on the outskirts of Venice. The room was large and very comfortable, the bathroom modern and roomy. We had a view of the garden. The breakfast was delicious. We met four other guests from other countries at the breakfast table. Tucked in the back streets, this home boasts a walled garden bursting with flowers, fresh strawberries, and a lawn. The patio furniture is available for guests. Unlike the rest of Venice, this area seemed to be home to more Venetians than tourists. Several local restaurants were nearby. Close to two vaporetto stops, there is easy access to the Grand Canal.

Location was great, the garden was so charming and beautifully kept, and the room was well presented, clean, spacious and had everything you’d need. Breakfast was very good, tons of choice. But the best feature were the kind and thoughtful hosts Janina and Gianni. They were so lovely, we would book again in a heartbeat! No complaints.

Beautiful place. Room very spacious, clean and well set up. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Very nice hosts. The location was great for access from the trains but a little farther from main attractions but was not a real problem.

This is the perfect oasis away from what can be the chaos of Venice. You can feel yourself relax as you get closer to "home". The breakfast is fabulous. The owners are kind and considerate. The garden is beautiful. The room size is quite ample. Excellent value for Venice. This is THE place to stay!

The breakfast was excellent. The hosts were very friendly and even accommodated my challenging dietary restrictions.

Everything! Beautiful courtyard, accommodating and friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. We loved the location and also the nearby Garden Bar for dinner drinks or breakfast.

Can't say enough good things about this place. Hosts were beyond any 5 Star place where we have ever stayed. Breakfast was phenomenal. Could not have been cleaner. Literally nothing.
